Campsites W & E are about 80' apart. Both are around 100' to the creek. The spots can accommodate a total length (towing vehicle plus trailer) of up to 35 ft.
There is an outdoor spigot with potable water and a hose for clean up. The woodlands and creek adjacent to the campsites have trails that are accessible to the public. You and your furry friends are welcome to use these paths, but know that others may be using them too.
Richmond has so much to offer and we are just a hop, skip, and a jump to many wonderful attractions - kayak or sunbathe on the James River, walk or bike on trails around the city, rock climb, dine, imbibe.

Camping in the city, in the woods 😎
The campsite was perfect, exceeding my already high expectations. Close to everything, but tucked away in the woods. The site was perfectly shady for a very hot August camping experience, and the creek was soothing and cooling after setting up camp. We used site E with a 6 person and a 4 person tent and it worked well. The toilet and shower were an excellent bonus for us and were much appreciated. Between the playground adjacent, the creek to cool off, the picnic table, fire pit, table and chairs, the site had all we needed and more for two adults and two kids. I would highly recommend this site for anyone looking to stay close to home, or visiting Richmond. Some of my very favorite restaurants in Richmond are very close by. (Little Nickel, Laura Lee’s, Crossroads, Charm School) As noted, you do hear lots of different noises, so if you are a light sleeper, plan accordingly. Happy camping!
A great stay!
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights (site w) and had an amazing time. Perfect ‘remote’ destination right outside the city. I really appreciated the facilities on the premises (bathroom, outdoor shower). Just the right amount of roughing it! Firewood was available, outdoor games, a hammock to lounge on. The creek was beautiful. Overall a great spot with great amenities and great hosts. Thank you!
First time solo dad daughter campin
This is the perfect spot for a quick get away out the city…without leaving the city! Great accommodations with an outhouse, dry fire wood, picnic table and even a play set for the little ones! We will definitely be back!
Private oasis, convenient location
We were so inspired by the City Campground on Reedy Creek! We couldn't believe how spacious and peaceful it was, right in the heart of Richmond. We really appreciated the access to an outdoor shower. We would love to return for a longer stretch, as the surrounding neighborhood is cute and bike friendly, and there is much to do and see in Richmond.
Rva's finest campsite!
Lovely stay! The sites are well maintained and have excellent amenities. We enjoyed the fire pit, outdoor shower, and hammock. We love Richmond and will definitely be staying again.
Love my camping spot!
I sincerely loved tent camping on Isabella’s land.
It had everything that I need for the days I spent there.
I like that the camping area is all shaded because in the evening my tent wasn’t burning hot. It was always cool.
The location was great for my purpose.
The outside shower was amazing.
I definitely will return to this place if I comeback to Richmond!
A city respite close to home!
What an amazingly secluded spot in the city. So many amenities to make tent camping comfortable. Wonderful location with great wildlife and a beautiful creek that was refreshing in the heat. We loved this place so much, we cannot wait to return as it’s so close to our home, but feels so far away! The hosts have thought of everything and were very pleasant yet allowed for privacy.
