If you have a group of more than 6 people, please contact us directly to talk about options. We sometimes suggest renting the entire camp (both sites) which will give you the space and privacy you need for larger groups.
Campsites W & E are about 80' apart. Both are around 100' to the creek. Distance from parking spot to campsites is around 25'. The spots can accommodate a total length (towing vehicle plus trailer) of up to 35 ft.
There is an outdoor spigot with potable water and a few extra parking spaces on the outskirts of the camping area. The woodlands and creek adjacent to the campsites have trails that are accessible to the public. You and your furry friends are welcome to use these paths, but know that others may be using them too.
Richmond has so much to offer and we are just a hop, skip, and a jump to many wonderful attractions - kayak or sunbathe on the James River, walk or bike on trails around the city, rock climb, dine, imbibe.
PLEASE NOTE* These sites are on a private property with a house that is visible to campers, but we give our guests complete privacy and don't plan to interact unless you need something from us. While you are on a 2 acre property backed up to a 20 acre wooded area, we are still in the middle of the city and you will hear city sounds.
This is a safe space. We do not discriminate based on anything that makes you...you <3

This was our second stay at City Camp on Reedy Creek and we plan to stay many more. The weather wasn't ideal. The forecast was calling for rain both nights we would be staying there. Isabella informed us that she covered the picnic table, put some dry kindling in the bath house and put the hammock up in preparation for the rain. Fortunately for us, it didn't rain the second night. Thanks to Isabella's thoughtful actions, we were able to sit at a dry camp and enjoy a nice campfire. I also want to point out that it rained a few inches that weekend and City Camp must drain very well. No mud or puddling.
The campsite was fantastic (smooth, flat area for the tent, beautiful surroundings, campfire area with wood, an outdoor shower, and compostable toilet). Other campers were at another site on the property, but we hardly noticed they were there. The site felt very private.
This city camp site was perfect! Bathroom, outdoor shower, hammock and plenty of firewood with a creek flowing in the back! I will certainly come back anytime I want to chill in Richmond. So close to the James River too!
I was in town for a busy weekend of work and used this spot as my home base. I would recommend it 10/10. It is super relaxing to sit down by the water and I only saw public trail users one time. It was quiet and everything that I expected.
This spot was perfect, super convenient location without *too much* noise from the city. I camped in my car and took my pup exploring on the trail that goes right by the campsite, the woods and river were beautiful and the host Isabella was very helpful!
Out of all the hip camps I've been to, I think this one has the best set up! the outhouse/restroom is great and easy to use! the campsite is large and it was awesome to know I was just right in someones backyard in the middle of Richmond. It's a great place for a weekend stay if you're trying to enjoy Richmond!
Great site, location! Isabella was very communicative and helpful and made sure we had a great time!
