Great view. Secluded if you go to the lower camp site. Trail to nice biking trail/river.
Good spot with access to the new river and a good bike trail.
This was the cutest property with the most breathtaking view. The way James framed the structure around the view of the river was quite literally perfect and a trip we will never forget. It almost felt like leaving home after staying there for even just a short time. We are already planning our next trip back. 10/10, highly recommend!

Beautiful location. You can see the river perfectly from the shelter; which can surprisingly hold a four person tent with room to spare. Has an outhouse with toilet paper and running water available in and out of the shelter (spicket and shower). Not to mention trashcans and a small refrigerator provided on site. Hiking to the river from the campsite was quite enjoyable but coming back really got us out of breath, the views at the river we’re definitely worth breaking a sweat for though. We were even lucky enough to see fireworks on the river the night of our stay. Overall, 10/10 place to stay. Really captures the beauty of this state.

Our stay at this lovely shelter was memorable and unique. We really loved the view, and it was great to have running water, refrigerator, wood stove, and an outhouse provided. Despite the high wind advisory for the days we were there, the site itself was buffered from the winds and was quite cozy. It was a little confusing to find the shelter after we reached the "Shelter" sign, but it is further straight down the path, near the bamboo copse. We had a small hybrid with low ground clearance, so opted to leave it up the hill by the pine tree instead of risking the somewhat deep path ruts. All in all, it was our favorite Hipcamp stay of our roadtrip!

This was the perfect getaway for a father/son weekend with my two teenage sons. We hung around a good bit at the shelter and ventured down to the river daily. I was able to fit my 4 person tent and each of my son’s 2 and 3 person tents a short walk down the hill from the shelter. It was very relaxing and peaceful! James was a great host! I was pleasantly surprised to have great cellular service. (Verizon) There was an AA Mart close by with fresh cut meats and fresh produce which was a plus! Definitely bring some hiking shoes to make the hike to the river easier- my GPS showed a 1.7 mile with a 200ft elevation change from the shelter to the river. It was a lot of fun!
Great spot. The shelter has an amazing view of the river, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a sink and fridge inside. Firewood was provided. There is a trail down to the riverbank if you are up for a hike. Be aware that the road/driveway leading to the campsite is pretty rough and steep and would be tough without 4WD and high ground clearance.
