Just outside the quaint town of Ashland and less than 5 miles off I95, Bonny Biggin Farm offers multiple campsites for BYOT (Bring Your Own Tent!) or drive-in camping for small RVs and all-wheel vehicles (just a short walk for sedans and compact cars). You can walk field edges to enjoy wildlife and diverse fauna.

Campsite 1 offers drive-in camping for vans, small campers, and off-road vehicles. You can park right next to the fire ring, pitch your tent, and enjoy the evening! Walk down the hill from the campsite for water access at the pond.

Campsite 9 is a short walk through the woods for all-wheel vehicles. Sedans and compact cars can park off the dirt road for a 2-minute walk to the campsite. The campsite is in a secluded grove of trees and offers lots of privacy. Pitch your tent or sleep under the stars. A fire ring is available. Branches can be scavaged for firewood, but be aware of poison oak.

We camped at site 1 and it was easy to get to (turn right at the end of the road at Copper House, pass corn field on your right, enter wooded area, and campsite 1 is the first clearing). Train was noticeable but did not bother me (no horns, just loud rumbling). The night sky was absolutely incredible. Did not get to visit the Loch, but hope to next time!

The area was nice and clean! We walked the squirrel loop in the morning. It was quiet except an occasional train in the distance :)

I cannot stress enough how serene my trip to Bonnie Biggin was! Despite being a primitive camping experience (which is precisely what we wanted) I was the most comfortable and relaxed I've been on even my most lavish "glamping" trips.

There was plenty of wildlife to observe and lots of hiking with scenic views. You still feel the hum of civilization when the trains roll through which only adds to the ASMR of the whole atmosphere.

Check in and navigating the property was very simple and the areas were well kept without being so manicured that it takes away from the feeling of wilderness.

Trying to offer an explanation of my favorite spots would be far too much pressure and pictures simply do not do it justice. You just have to go see for yourself. :)

I was sad to pack up camp and I will certainly be returning when I can!

I loved tent camping on Katherine’s land after a long day of driving. We got in late and needed a place to just set up our tents and sleep before another long day of driving. Katherine was very generous by allowing us to stay last minute. It was perfect and it looked like there were many trails to explore if we had the chance to stay longer. Train tracks are close by and we were able to find the tent spot in the dark.
