Leila and Devin own a wonderful property here tucked away with views of the Blue Ridges. Unfortunately, on the night we were booked to stay a very strong wind and rain storm pushed up from the south and made it dangerous for us to us our tent with winds clocking almost into the 30s.
We were very sad to have to leave this spot for elsewhere but we knew we would have loved it especially for those morning sunrises—we’ll just have to come back and see!

Beautiful campsite! Perfect for my reactive dog as there were no other people or animals in sight. Gorgeous views and a nice little hike to the creek. We’re already planning to return in the fall!

The site itself is very nice, beautiful views.
If going during hunting season, be extra careful and bring neon colors. We heard gunshots in close range of the site- some within 80ish yards at most.

I'd also note that while mostly very quiet, a freight train can be heard periodically throughout the day and night.

Would recommend bringing sandbags or weights to weigh down a tent as the ground is very rocky and staking is difficult, at least at the site we were at (Beta Cancri)

Beautiful area! There was firewood even though we brought our own and the view is really nice. The outhouse was especially a unique experience, in a good way :)

The property is great! My buddy, myself, and my dog enjoyed our weekend stay. There is a swell mountain ridge vista from the primary camp, a good fire ring, dry firewood, and flat enough land to tent camp enjoyably! The owners arrived to do weekend maintenance and to enjoy it themselves that weekend and were very welcoming.

There is a cute winery, called Rebec, located on the opposite side of Route 29. Was a great side quest and we ended up grabbing a few bottles after a pleasant tasting.

We also took a hike down to the river which was an adventure. If you elect to do the same you must wear pants, boots, and a shirt that covers your skin because it gets 'thorny' in areas. Also take rags to wipe off your feet if you want to descend into the water! The drop off to the water line is tricky - we used a fallen tree to assist the climb out because it was that steep. It was great to walk the river line. It was only a few inches deep in the middle and had I had some sort of hiking chair I'd have sat there for awhile!

Lastly - The outhouse is clean and oddly inviting! Yep - I just wrote that... you'll understand when you get to use it. Poops with a smile - ha!

We would go back without a hesitation!
