Great site for price!
Great land not too far outside of Roanoke, took me about 30 mins from Roanoke. Sites are easy to access and provide a great space for tent camping. Middle of hunting season and on the weekend, hounds were hunting and tons of gun shots till dark and then again early morning.
Beautiful natural spot by a creek!
It was a great experience! Roni was very welcoming, down to earth and friendly. The property is in a beautiful area, lush and full of life. We camped down by the brook, and fell asleep listening to it as well as the chorus of frogs, bugs and raindrops on the tent. We also heard barred owls in the woods, hooting back and forth, and spotted them in the morning! I very much enjoyed the stay and would recommend it for sure!
Not a destination, use caution
This is a mixed review, first beautiful area. I am a ver experienced primitive camper and I managed the spot easily. However a novice would likely struggle. Sooo this place has potential to be a great spot…..however I only stayed one of the two nights I booked because sites were very rough not well placed or thought out (large rocks, cut down trees with very sharp stumps etc). Sites are not set up to have a spot for tent, very small and brush hogged so rough. There was lots of trash around the property ( old garbage and food containers, meat packages). Toilets were not emptied, stream or river for bathing was not an actual option, only about two inches of water maybe 2 feet wide. Ultimately, it was not a place to hang and relax as I was looking, appearance is it is over all off putting place to be. If you want a quick night on your way to somewhere it would be ok. It does appear they are working toward creating a very nice spot, but have too many projected started and not finished. Owner was super nice and friendly. I would encourage them to be able to answer basic questions about the area. I wanted to hike on blue ridge, but she did not know how far it was , or what if any trails were near. She told me about a horse trail but really didn’t know about it.
Lovely spot, friendly host
Roni was responsive and helpful, which was great for my short notice booking. Everything was as advertised and she came right out upon my arrival to make sure that I was settled.
I loved camping on Roni’s land! Google Maps worked but she also provided written directions just in case.
I arrived around 9pm the first night and she was nice enough to meet me outside and help me find my spot and get set up.
The land is BEAUTIFUL and in such a great location, the sound of the brook was perfect for a peaceful sleep.
No service at the spot but it’s not needed.
I was able to buy some fresh eggs as well!
This spot is super quiet and I am definitely planning on another visit here!
Soothing sounds of the creek
We loved camping at Roni's campsite! It is tranquil, and the mountain views are breathtaking! The site is clean, and there is a lot of land to roam around. The host is amiable and accomodating. We had a great night's sleep, lulled by the gurgling creek sounds! Definitely recommended!
