Brendan's camp site was so beautiful. We had the whole site to ourselves to take in the glorious tall mountain ash gums around us. Brendan was a very generous host and took us on a tour of his glorious property including a temperate rainforest microclimate with a fresh water fairy forest and showing us his tallest tree that was around 400 years old! All together an amazing experience would recommend highly
Suggestion: go in the summer!!!
This campground is amazing! I would suggest to go more in the summer as all the amenities and grounds were under work during the winter. Definitely more of a Summer Family Getaway. The manager was always willing to lend a hand and the tracks surrounding were magnificent! The whole campground reminds me of an ‘American summer family getaway’ so do not expect immense privacy. Finding the campground was probably the most difficult, but the instructions eventually made sense. I warn those with smaller cars to avoid this place as the track will kill your suspension!!! Otherwise, an awesome family getaway with great staff, views and scenery. Will definitely be coming back!
Great hosting, property and facilities - thanks very much for accommodating us Brendan. Look forward to staying again (and in better weather next time!!).
I love the aroma of the gum trees, and the sounds of birds chirping as the sun greets a new day. There is a sense of calmness in the wilderness lost from the bustling city life. One of my favorite camping spots now. We sat by the fire and relaxed while some went for a stroll through the bush on tracks littered with fallen leaves that rustle under their footsteps. Sunlight, filtering through a thick canopy of trees, which dances on the ground. Now I’ve finished being all poetic, it was a beautiful camp place to get away from it all. Offering showers and toilets and the most awesome rock pool and spa just put the cherry on the top. Flat ground which accommodates the 3 caravans, the mini bus and the swags was perfect.

The views were beautiful and the directions were clear. We were surprised by the steep driveway, but our large van managed it ok. 4WD no issue, but smaller cars might struggle. We were greeted by our lovely hosts and their old dog Charlie and then left to our own devices. Brendan made sure our campfire was well stocked with firewood. We booked the top campground but it was a bit muddy due to recent rain, so Brendan suggested we camp at the main campground which we didn't mind. We were right next to the amenities block that are just like home, nice hot showers and very clean. The pool area is really awesome, reminded me of a beach bar and would be great in summer! We copped some "doof doof" all Saturday night through to morning from a distant rave/music festival that echoed through the mountains, but that was no fault of the hosts.

Hi Faye, thanks for the great review, glad to hear you had a great time - you are welcome back anytime!
Toolangi Heights is perched on the high side of the road over looking the mountains towards Narbethong, Fernshaw and Marysville which provides a stunning outlook from the lower campground.
There are two camp sites on offer, the “lower" (main campground) and the “top" campsites, I stayed at the top.
The lower campground has immediate access to amenities, clean toilets and shower facilities and a beautiful spring rock pool. It was a bit chilly for a dip, but in summer I would not have hesitated.
The top campsite has an open space with plenty of room, a small dam and surrounding forest. There are many walking tracks to take some of which lead to a beautiful spring pond and picturesque rainforest.
It was a peaceful getaway. Our dog Beau was welcomed (I checked before my booking to make sure) and there was access to a lot of firewood and a firepit ready to go. There are no amenities at the top campsite (we had our own toilet). You can still use the amenities on offer at the lower campground however a jump in the car would be the quickest way there and back.
This experience would be suited to all levels of campers especially those new to camping and would give you a good taste of nature and fresh air and show you how amazing these getaways can be.
Toolangi Heights is just 1.5 hrs from Melbourne.
A 20 minute drive to Healesville that has some great exploring on offer from cafes, wineries, book shops, and a brewery to name a few.

Beautiful secluded spot. Brendan was very helpful. The warm shower was a real bonus. Would come again, highly recommended.
