Nestled right beside the Murrundini River, this campsite is surrounded by tall swamp gums, black wood wattles and tree ferns. This spot (site 2) is at its best from spring through to autumn (can get very damp in winter). Site one is flat open and good all year round. Site one best for caravans, camper-trailers, site two best for tents. Both are right beside the river. There are two swimming holes, with steps for easy access (hand rails on the both of them.)
Enjoy a peaceful riverside camp site. Campfires are permitted, only in provided fire pits (fire wood can be supplied). A grill or hotplate for the fire is also available.
It's a short walk to the onsite toilet facilities (150m). There is potable rain water tank, single toilet block provided, and a picnic table for meals.
This property is close to wineries, scenic reserves, 4WDing, scenic waterfalls, hiking trails and fishing spots. There is abundant native wild life on site and near by (kangaroos, wallabies, echidna, heaps of wombats) and amazing and rare bird life on site.
PLEASE NOTE: Mobil very good reception for Telstra network across entire property, but Optus only from the hill top.
Well behaved pets (dogs) allowed with discussion. Young or exuberant dogs/puppies would recommend site one, as you can close the gate and keep them close, and not have to worry about them wandering too far. PLEASE clean up after your dog. As Only two of the three camp sites are leased at a time, you can enjoy plenty of space and privacy (over 1km of river frontage, 32 acres in total).
No shooting allowed. No trail bikes to be used onsite (respect other campers and neighbors).
The original home stead (built in 1876) burnt down in the 2009 black Saturday fires. There still remains many 150+ year old elms and other European trees near the toilet block, which are delightful in autumn. Mid winter there are hundreds of yellow daffodils & white jonquils. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them.. Please note site 3 "Craig's flat" will open for bookings mid February. This site will cater for camper vans & small caravans ,trailers, tents/ swags. Please message for details for advance bookings. Early arrivals are available, depending on bookings.

Great communication from first enquiry to arriving.
Was nice to have our own patch of land with easy creek access. Perfect on such a hot weekend !
So much to do and see in the area.
We had an amazing time camping at the glade. Kids enjoyed splashing round in the river and it was lovely and shady. Michael communicated well and ensured we had a great time.
Beautiful spot right next to the river. Excellent friendly host, was more than happy to help with any questions etc. will definitely be back for a relaxing camping trip again soon.
We loved camping at Michaels Property, plenty of room and privacy.
Michael was a very friendly host and loved to talk about the wildlife on his property. There was ample clean water onsite to drink and the toilet block was a blessing on the site. We stayed at Site One which could accommodate a number of peopl, with easy access to the flowing creek.
We loved the stars at night and the bird sounds during the day with Kookaburras laughing through out the day. I would highly recommend this property as we had an enjoyable and relaxing time.
Great spot by the creek
Fantastic spot with access to the creek, fire pit, shade and is enclosed - perfect for dogs! Site 1 has the rain water tank and picnic shelter. Toilet is a 5 min walk from site 1. Loved the walk to see the sunset. Michael was great with communication. Highly recommend!
Awesome place to camp. Woke up to the sound of the river and birds. Plenty of shade for the hot Summer days. Michael was an awesome host and even sent a quick weather update while we were there. We had a 2.5 year old with us and the river was perfect. Shallow and sandy near the edge for him to sit and splash and throw stones :).
Couple with child and dog.
We were very impressed with our site by the river. Plenty of shade and quite private. A small walk to the toilet. Unfortunately the weather was going to turn nasty so we chose to leave a day early. Would love to go back again.
Birdsong & fresh river
Peaceful bush retreat, right on the river, serenaded by running water & birds. Unbelievable range of birdsong. The “real” toilet was a welcome luxury! Dogs loved running around. Great host. Will be back.
