Plenty of options for caravans, camper trailers, vehicles and tents. Camping areas are around the large dam, or by the smaller dam where recently installed nesting boxes have encouraged flying foxes and red rosellas to move in. And there is a water rat living there...looked friendly. Mirrengatta is quiet and private, but close to many attractions within the Goldfields region

Great find and will return.
Brilliant hosts (thanks again Lorraine) and really helpful on arrival and flexible with the booking and changes in requirements. Very peaceful bush site with lovely lake, surrounding scenery and beautiful sunset and sunrises through the trees. Falling asleep while star gazing through the swag fly sheet was an absolute treat. Didn’t have an opportunity to really explore the surrounds due to it being a last minute break away and am already looking at dates to go back for longer.
A beautiful tranquil camping spot!
We loved our stay in Murrengatta - it borders the Clunes State Forest. We enjoyed seeing all kinds of birds and walking through the state forest. It’s a perfect spot to unwind and relax.
Relaxing and peaceful
We loved camping at Mirrengatta. Lorraine was very welcoming and provided some lovely firewood for us. The dam is beautiful and there's a canoe for visitors' use. Lorraine's two dogs visited our camp and entertained us. Lots of bushwalks along gravel roads and tracks in the nearby Clunes State forest and Dunach Nature Reserve. We plan to stay at Mirrengatta again soon.
Great spot with lots of privacy
Mirrengatta was a great spot, with flat ground and a lovely view. Lorraine was a fabulous host, who greeted us and pointed out our site, and then left us alone of the rest of our stay. The nearest site to ours was about 20 or 30 meters away, so we were guaranteed as much privacy as we liked.
Great property, wonderful hosts. Couldn’t have asked foe a better spot to spend the long weekend. Relaxing and peaceful, the hum of the honey bees nearby, kangaroos and the bird life. The yabbies - enough foe a couple of meals - delicious!
Mirrengatta was a wonderful spot! Host Lorraine was quick to respond to messages, and very easy to deal with - answered all my questions and had some good advice on concerns I had about being a first time camper. Property was easy to get to towing a trailer (for the first time!) Unsure abut how I would go levelling it out, it was super easy since the site itself was perfect; nice and flat, right in front of the water, all cleared and private. Since we were first timers Lorraine and family came past to check up on us and even started the fire! It was such a great spot we left already making plans on when we could go back.
