Merriwoola Off Grid Hut
Amazing !!!
Very very private, had a lovely time with a big group of people. Lots to explore. Not a lot of privacy within the house but that just added to the adventure. Would 100% come back

Merriwoola Off Grid Hut
My son and I enjoyed staying on Peter’s land so much. It’s absolutely beautiful, and very peaceful. We loved making the walk down to the little stream to cool off, and the hut was perfectly basic but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
It was great that we could bring our little dog.
A precious break from our busy lives.

Merriwoola Off Grid Hut
rustic weekender hut
This is a great little hut north of Lancefield. The creek to the west of the hut is excellent for kids to splash and explore in and there is plenty of land for them to run about in, collect kindling and bird spot.

Good camping spot, we got a lot of rain but the site is well positioned, the rain just ran off, no flooding, dried out very quickly. Nice hut, kept us dry and warm. Beware the outdoor toilet has no roof!

Merriwoola Off Grid Hut
The camp-site was well set out. There was lots of space for three families. The cabin was well stocked with crockery/cutlery/blankets/ cereals & condiments. The views were amazing. The site manager was meticulous in his explanation of how things worked and the cabin was clean.

Merriwoola was an absolute delight
This property honestly exceeded our expectations in practically every way! Only an hour's drive from Melbourne and we felt like we were completely isolated in the middle of beautiful Australian bushland. And the place was much more kitted out and comfortable than we expected. Kitchen with heaps of appliances, cutlery/crockery, and utensils, there was a little gas camp stove for heating up water in the mornings for coffee, a massive esky, a dining table, decent beds with mosquito nets and extra blankets, and a fun and functional outdoor bathroom with hot water. Cooking with the gas bbq outside was a breeze. Our dog had the time of his life, chasing butterflies and lizards. There was a helpful fence forming a large perimeter around the hut which helped to keep our dog in and wildlife out, though the fence is not totally dog proof so we were careful to keep him supervised or secured in some way, especially at night, to avoid him dashing off after some kangaroo or other wildlife. We spotted an echidna which was super cute. We drove down the road to the servo to get ice and supplies a couple of times during our stay which was really easy. And we had a really fun time exploring the massive property beyond the hut perimeter, checking out the rocky gorge and clambering about, though do be warned that it's pretty rough and steep.
We will almost certainly be back.
