It was great to have the whole place to ourselves, rather than having other people and their bad habits in your face. Close enough to town for convenience but far enough away for the peace and quiet. The spot is reasonably close to the road but is lucky to see 1 or 2 cars an hour and basically none at night, so isn't an issue at all. Definitely recommend.
We enjoyed our one night stay at Maldon Camp. We were able to set up camp anywhere in the large paddock and chose the best spot for our campfire with the bricks provided. Great location close to Maldon, Mount Tarrengower and Cairn Curran Reservoir. Rod was a friendly host who met us on arrival. Thanks for a peaceful stay!
Great area to set up our hybrid van. The property is out of Maldon but very accessible. Plenty of places to explore in the area. Rod was very helpful in offering assistance if we needed it due to bad weather.

We had a great night in 2 swags and with 2 dogs that have been allowed of lead what is amazing.
Please control your 4 legged friends and pick up after them so it stays like that.

A great little spot to base yourself. So close to state forrest its across the road, if you just want to bird watch, walk in the bush, hunt for gold with a detector, this is gold country!
Or you could mountain bike in the forrest or ride from Maldon to Castlemaine on the rail trail.
If you're into fishing about four KLM away is a huge dam to wet your line.
Or just wander into Maldon for a wine at the wine bar .
Or fish and chips, great burgers from cafe in Maldon.
The camp site is just a quiet little farm paddock with plenty of space for you or a big group.
