Easily accessible from a dirt road, your shaded site overlooks an acre pond. You are surrounded by lawns, open fields and hills with a small barn across the road from you. The pastures support horses, cattle, sheep and chickens in your neighborhood. The ponds are both great for fishing, and the large one for swimming and canoeing as well. There are trails through the woods and logging roads to be explored on foot or bike. A walk up to the top of the hill affords near-360-degree views.
[Note for RV/trailer users: We are at the top of a 1.7 mile hill, of which more than a mile is dirt and the last half die or so is steep. We do NOT recommend pulling anything up this hill with front wheel drive vehicles, especially in wet conditions. If there is any question, be sure to message us for more info.]
[Note for GPS-reliers: some GPS devices try to send people up the back side of the hill, which is not an adequate road for any RV or even some cars. Your route should take you to Beacon Hill Road via VT route 110. it should NOT take you to Beacon Hill Road via Brook Road!]

Camping with grandchildren
We had a wonderful time at Windswept Acres. It was the perfect setting for us to spend time camping with our two grandchildren, ages 4 and 6. The property was beautiful and allowed the kids to fish to their hearts content, catching and releasing more Bass than they could remember. Kayaking on the pond was an added bonus. The fire pit was a big hit for all of us, and was so relaxing to sit near the fire under the stars while enjoying s’mores. We would highly recommend Windswept Acres to anyone looking to camp remotely and enjoy the peace and quiet and we look forward to returning again ourselves.

Doc and Sarah's land was amazing, as were they themselves and their family! Very friendly and welcoming, loved chatting with them all. And they had several friendly dogs that accepted our own dog in as part of their pack, and they all went roaming the property and playing all day! Meanwhile we set up loungers under a tree near the pond and relaxed with a beautiful view. Even hiked up to the top of the hill on the back of their property for a panoramic view...so beautiful! We definitely want to come back!
10 out of 10! What an amazing oasis, and picturesque setting. The grounds are well manicured but still retain the natural beauty that is Vermont. A welcoming committee that any dog lover would appreciate, a large and clean pond for swimming, trails to walk and a very short trip down the hill into town for all your creature comforts. We would highly recommend this to all of our friends and family. Thanks for an unforgettable weekend!
Beautiful piece of land atop a hill. Great pong for swimming, and my dog enjoyed playing with the host's pups. The hosts were very nice and the camp spot was great with partial hookups. It can get a bit windy, but I guess thats in the name!
We had a wonderful time camping at this beautiful site. Thank you, Sarah & Doc. It was just what we needed to escape our everyday stresses. Thank you for being so accommodating and kind.
We loved and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and open fields overlooking the pond. The weather was great and no bugs to bother us. We swam in the pond on one of the hot days and it was very refreshing.
We’d loved to return again next year!
Thanks for the great place to relax and enjoy the Great Vermont outdoors!
Windswept acres is a beauty!
We needed a few days, not far away, to spend some time grieving our dog, Peace, who had passed away the week before. Windswept Acres was the perfect balm for our sad spirits. Having electric and potable water hookups made everything that much easier. Doc and Sarah were wonderful and kind. It is a glorious location overlooking the pond, fields and mountains and the weather was just right. We sat by the pond by day and the fire by night (wood provided by Doc, thank. you) and came home more centered. We can't thank you enough Doc and Sarah...We look forward to many stays at Windswept Acres.
We stayed here because of the reviews calling it “the best place I’ve ever camped”, and I have to say that I agree. The farm was beautiful and immaculately maintained and Sarah and Doc were fantastic hosts. My husband and I kept saying we were in paradise, and the kids loved it just as much as we did. We will definitely be back.
