Turtle Hill was perfect in every way. The site was soft and flat, buffered by trees and close to the trails and gardens on Erin's property. He had water ready for me when I arrived. An outhouse is in close proximity to the site with a washing station. The site over looked a pine forest with ferns. Quiet, private and peaceful while being minutes from Montpelier. Erin's communication was superb and he's a super nice guy. He has incredible gardens to explore.

Erin was very accommodating for our short stay. Very secluded and peaceful back in the woods.
At the site a picnic table would be a bonus.
Beware if you are hiking or biking the hill to the house is a killer especially at the end of a day. Have everything you need when going up there.
Erin is a great host with a nice place to camp very close to Montpelier. I would recommend and come back!
Camping on Erin's land was a great choice! It was easy to find, and we had plenty of space and privacy to ourselves. We both slept very well and biked down the hill in the morning to get breakfast in Montpelier (about a 10 min bike down - it a rather steep hill going up, FYI!). He made us feel very comfortable by leaving out some firewood and drinking water. Thanks, Erin!
Erin's campsite was peaceful and quiet, we had a very pleasant stay there for one night. We did the hike that Erin suggested to us, and it was amazing! We were provided with plenty of filtered water and wood to build a fire.
I enjoyed my two night's at Erin's place. Erin was easy to communicate with and I loved that he built a fire for my arrival so I could chill out and enjoy it once I finished getting set up (especially since I arrived at night). The setting is peaceful with a large flat area with soft moss underneath. Erin did a good job mapping out the paths with wood beam guides on the ground so it keeps you from getting lost. I felt far away from the house which was both part of the charm and part of the challenge. If you find yourself going back and forth to your car for things then it is a 3-4 minute walk uphill to go back and forth. I loved how out in nature the place felt while still being really close to the downtown area. Erin also did a great job setting up his native plant area and I will be curious to see what the place looks like as he continues to build it out. I would stay again.
My stay was great! Got there pretty late after my train was delayed, and Erin graciously opened the gate and showed me the getup in the dark, bringing me plenty of freshly filtered water too. It's a beautiful area, even saw some deer! Didn't get a chance to have a fire or to fully explore, as I had to leave fairly early in the morning, but but all the more reason to go back!
Fantastic place to camp so close to Montpelier. Camp site was great, nestled in the woods nice and peaceful with enough distance from the main property for privacy. Plenty of space for one tent on a leveled area, possibly could fit two if needed. Erin was a stellar host. He was very accommodating and friendly during our stay. The property and amenities were also fantastic; water, outhouse, firepit. If you're looking for a nice escape conveniently located, this is a great place.
