Beautiful sunrise view
West Mtn Primitive is the perfect place to get away from it all. The site is huge, has a great outdoor shower with water straight off the mountain, picnic table, pit toilet with a view and super comfortable fire pit area. The view at night watching the fire and seeing the moon and stars over the hill side is stunning. Waking up the morning we had a cloud inversion in the valley as the sun came up. Mike is a great host, very knowledgeable and very helpful. Plenty of fire wood, water and lots of a lots of land to explore. Will be coming back next year and would highly recommend this place for the views and how well its managed. For reference I came by motorcycle and its a rideable road up to the campsite. Perfect spot for moto camping and exploring the area.
Plenty of space
Quiet, beautiful scenery, great for tenters! Our 24' Itasca Navion took a beating from low branches and we had to manually lift a wire to get under it to go to this site. The lane is steep and overgrown. If you are good with that, the large field with firepit and great picnic table awaits. Listen to hawks and coyotes and watch the bees gather from goldenrod flowers. The site is somewhat level., but we really needed levelers to be comfortable. Our host was pleasant and responsive. We stayed to visit the Clark Art Institute, 36 minutes away.
