So pleased with our stay!
Amazing. We chose this spot on a bit of a whim, but we were so beyond pleased with Mike and his beautiful home he opened up to us! He was so helpful with finding fun things to do in the area and the two camp sites we could choose from were beautiful! Amazing view of rolling hills where each day we watched the sun set and rise.
Beautiful stay in farm grounds
Beautiful campsite! The grounds are located above Mike’s farm and provides the best views. Mike was lovely and gave us great advice on what to do in the area. They even make maple syrup in the surrounding forest!
There isn’t a bathroom or a shower but there is a spigot with water for basic needs. There is a lake 10 minutes away (which you have to pay for) and the Battenkill River is nearby (which is free). The camp lot is equipped with chairs, a picnic table and a fire pit. But really can’t beat the view!
We loved Mike and the site! There was an error with Hipcamp in that said the site was open when it wasn’t. Mike spent the day to accommodate us and set up a second site for us to enjoy the weekend. It was beautiful with a great view of the mountains. We found the grill over fire to be very useful. You can buy wood and maple syrup on site. The drinking water is fresh. The stars are beautiful. Very close to Lake Shaftsbury. We had a great time!
Such a beautiful and beyond breathtaking view! Mike was so accommodating and really made us feel welcomed. We purchased wood onsite and collected fresh eggs from the chickens one morning. The site was very private and we had access to fresh water, a compost toilet & a fire pit/grill. We can’t wait to come back!
Wow! My family and I, along with a small group of friends, spent 2 nights at Timbertrail Farm. It was a spectacular experience from start to finish. The sites were well-maintained and private with beautiful views of the Green Mountains, and the farm animals made for a fun experience for our little ones. We enjoyed a wood-fired pizza one evening and took some homemade maple syrup when we left! Timbertrail Farm offered the perfect balance of Vermont farm life and primitive camping. Mike was a fantastic host, always helpful, responsive, and generous. We can't recommend Timbertrail more highly and hope to return again!
We had a wonderful experience at Timbertrail Farm. The site was beautiful and clean and had an amazing view. Our friends commented that even the compost toilet smelled nice! Mike was a great host, friendly and helpful. We brought a scepter water tank to bring potable water to the site from the house as needed; the site includes a nice spring water shower for washing but we didn’t have a chance to use it. There were two tables, benches, and chairs as well as a small fire pit that worked well for cooking. Our toddler enjoyed feeding the chickens scraps and meeting Mike’s dog. We’ll definitely be back!
Mike’s campsite is a little jewel facing the mountain. You access through a driveway leading to different plots of land, all very private. You have your own space on 5 acres of land with an amazing view. Mike provides a table and a firepit. There is also a shower and dry toilet on site. Mike is very welcoming and will go out of his way to make sure you have everything you need. Friendly host, friendly dog, friendly chicken at the entrance of the property, complete silence and privacy at the campsite. As a female solo traveler, I couldn’t have felt more safe at Mike’s place. It was a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend it, although I suspect that very soon, word will get out and it will be full, but if not, I will definitely go back!
This site was beautiful. Mike was very friendly and made sure we had what we needed to make sure our stay was a good one. I was pleasantly surprised with how private the stay was even though it was on someones land. The view of the mountains from our site was amazing.
