Hello!!!

We are nestled in the Sterling Forest on 10 acres just 10 minutes from Stowe Village and a mile and a quarter from the Sterling Forest trailhead!!

You may wonder why I call my listing "Rescue Ranch Stowe". Well, for the past decade I have been fostering and rescuing dogs and have developed a very unique bond with my pack of 4 rescues. I want to take my connection with k9's and start fostering dogs through the shelter I work with and train them to be "off leash trail dogs" to hopefully match them with campers when they are ready for adoption. The typical meet and greet at the shelter lasts 15-30 minutes. That's a very short period of time to really get to know a dog and vice versa. Here we want to give people the opportunity to recreate and camp with the dogs to get a real feel for each other's personality.

That's coming soon!! As of right now you can hangout with the members of my current pack! They love to hike and even camp with new people! 3 of us used be vacation rental hosts for 9 years! They're used to it!

We offer a  tent platform, a campervan site, an Airstream as well a site with electrical and water hookups as well as a few little pastures that can be used for campers, RV's, and tents. Or sleep under the stars!

The site with electrical and water is right next to the main house just in case that is a deal breaker for some.

With downtown Stowe 10 minutes away by car you can comfortably ride your road or gravel bike from the property into town. I am more than happy to take campers on rides, hikes or a paddle to show you guys the area!

I'm turning my shed into a little camp store on the weekends. We will be selling granola made locally, beef jerky, bug spray, wood burning camp stoves, hammocks, and a few other items!

Please shoot me a message with questions 24/7!

The pack and I hope to see you soon!!

Lance has created a camping haven that is easily accessible from Stowe and offers lovely shaded private sites as well as open, welcoming communal spaces. The place was easy to find, and it was super easy to park our minivan at the site and pitch the rooftop tent in a very level spot. There is a choice of very nice firepit setups, cute strings of lights to guide your way at night, and a spigot with access to delicious well water. Lance is a friendly and considerate host. He has 4 cute dogs but he keeps them under control (they didn’t bother my dog at all and she’s not always tolerant).

This camp site was awesome! Lance has clearly put a ton of work into making it comfortable for car or tent camping, and the woods and lake are very charming. 13/10 would camp again.

Rescue Ranch was fantastic. Lance was very welcoming and went out of his way to make sure all of our needs were met. The dogs were super friendly, the property was beautiful, and our campsite was private yet close to facilities! My father and I stayed here on night 2 out of a five day bikepacking trip around Vermont! Lance is a big cyclist himself, and was generous enough to let me use his bike stand for some end-of-day tinkering and repairs.

We loved our stay at the Rescue Ranch Stowe. Lance was very hospitable, friendly, and had a ‘Mi casa es su casa,’ kind of demeanor - A very generous guy who wants to make everyone happy. Sammy the 10 year old pup hung out with us for hours on the first day, making us feel completely at home there. The bathroom and shower are GREAT! The site was lovely and Lance clearly works very hard building this place into a sanctuary that we all enjoy. We’ll definitely be back! Thank you Lance for everything!

Lance is super welcoming and the property was exactly what we were looking for. Large grassy campsite, hammock hangout area, and fire pit available. Be sure to give the dogs some love as they will be there to greet you upon entering. Very close to town. Will definitely be back next time we are in Stowe!

Lance was gracious, accommodating, and attentive - proactively providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The camp is spacious and well landscaped, with clean and private facilities. The dogs are friendly and playful, adding to the fun communal vibe at Rescue Ranch. There are several nice hikes close by.

Rescue Ranch is a really sweet spot to camp in a lush Vermont forest just minutes from the center of Stowe. Lance is a generous and great host and went above and beyond to be sure I was comfortable camping next to the little pond. It's completely quiet, clean and magical. You also have the opportunity to spend time with the rescued dogs that are super friendly and even adopt one if you find the right match. This is a way better camping experience than the commercial campgrounds. Lance has a place to grab a hot shower in the morning and there's good hiking in the area in a beautiful part of the state. Wish I could have stayed an extra night or two. I'll definitely be back!
