Close to downtown Wilmington and easy access from the road!
Fantastic site, great host. We unfortunately had to cut our visit short due to an illness with one of our dogs, but we had a great stay by the pond and brook. Thank you to Gus for being such an accommodating host!
We stayed at Gus’ property for one night and it was a perfect, easy stopover. Gus stopped by to say hi, and recommended a good restaurant in Wilmington (Anchor). The town is super cute, and Gus has yard games and a fire pit and picnic table available. Ample space. Some road noise, but minor and totally worth the ease of entry and convenience. Would stay here again.
The camping spot is private and comfortable with a lovely pond view and a trail running through the property. The host stopped by and was gracious and kind. This has become one of our favorite spots and we’re looking forward to our next trip.
“Peaceful Pond” is right! We and our camping cat loved spending our evening here. It was a great first (but not last) trip to Wilmington. We also appreciated the proximity to the village center.
Thanks, Gus!

Fantastic stay! Absolutely love this site. Gus is an amazing host. He stopped by to make sure we were enjoying everything and chatted a bit about the local attractions. The site is located on a series of interconnected trails that can take you all over the region. Ended up hiking to nearby Wilmington and enjoying the quaint downtown. Each night, the brook lulled us to sleep along with the frogs in the nearby pond. Wonderful privacy, yet minutes away from lots of activities. Thanks, Gus for opening up your property!
Host was responsive and kind. Looking forward to our next trip.
This was an amazing location for my boyfriend and I and our two boys…the picnic table, fire pit and lawn games add the perfect touch, and access to the river hiking/running trails provided the perfect amount of adventure. It’s also close enough to some great coffee and food options if you wanted to run to town to supplement the camping experience. We’d definitely come back!
