This was an amazing location for my boyfriend and I and our two boys…the picnic table, fire pit and lawn games add the perfect touch, and access to the river hiking/running trails provided the perfect amount of adventure. It’s also close enough to some great coffee and food options if you wanted to run to town to supplement the camping experience. We’d definitely come back!

Easy to access, fairly level spot, great fire ring and grill! Downside is visible neighbors and road noise until mid evening. We have no complaints, though, the site was as advertised, and worked for our itinerary. We have a 24' Itasca Navion and were able to pull through the lane around the trees in the center, no problem! No low overhanging trees or wires to contend with...firewiod and lawn games and pucnic table on site.

We had an amazing weekend at the Peaceful Pond! The campsite was very quiet and serene but there was also plenty to do so you we were not bored. The campsite is everything that was described in the listing. We brought our 2 dogs. They had so much room to play and were obsessed with swimming in the pond. They are 2 young energetic dogs and they tuckered themselves out by 7pm and slept our whole last day. I would definitely recommend this place to stay.

Perfect place to stay! We really enjoyed our night here. It's a beautiful spot and the river and trail behind it are great to explore. It's not too far from the shops and restaurants in Wilmington. We would absolutely stay here again!

This place was great! Private (we were the only ones there) peaceful and beautiful scenery. Gus kept in touch before arrival keeping us updated on the heavy rain moving in. He greeted us when we got there, was informative about the area and was very friendly. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this place.

First off, Gus is a considerate and very personable host who will make you as comfortable as he can. The location itself is outstanding. There is a sweet frog pond with ducks, and sparrows doing murmurations at sunset; your tent or camper can move right up to it if you like. A truly picturesque brook runs 100 feet away from your site and affords some pools of water, hip-deep, for cooling off and hanging out in a mountain stream. The site itself has plenty of extra space, enough to set up an extra tent or two and set up a badminton court, i.e.. The site is surrounded by trees, reeds, and bushes. All of about 15000 square feet is yours. Now to a crucial point: The local main road runs 500 feet beyond your site. The vehicle noise during the daylight hours is noticeable but it is no more intrusive than in any of the larger campsites. And from the evening hours on till 6 o'clock next morning, there is hardly any meaningful traffic on that road, and the neighborhood turns rather quiet. Beautifully quiet. You are the only one there. Gus will provide you with seasoned (!) firewood for a few quids, and he has a garden hose on the site with water from his own well. If you don't like the taste of chemicals, this is the kind of drinking water you want. The site is located about 3/4 mile away from the town of Wilmington which is comparatively petite but features a good dozen of well-appointed shops: crafts, accessories, antiques, art, plus also a few traditional diners, restaurants, and boutique coffee shops with truly excellent coffee. Two franchise grocery stores are located about 1/2 out of town. Some good hikes and biking trails are close by plus some larger lakes but none of these have sandy beaches.

The Peaceful Pond Retreat was exactly as described - it was wonderful! It was a quiet, peaceful atmosphere. Felt private, although not far from Augustus’s home and Wilmington’s quaint downtown. Anything you need (gas station, grocery store, restaurants, etc.) is all very close by. Easy drive in and park with our 20 foot tow behind camper. The mountain fed, ice cold stream on the property was our favorite part - our dog loved it as well!! We will be going back! Thank you Augustus!!

Such a serene place. I extended my stay twice because I didn’t want to leave! Honestly I could live here. Beautiful, peaceful, and so much space! The grass is soft enough to walk on barefoot. The owner was very nice and brought a hose out to my camper so I didn’t have to haul water all week. Fun to talk to, very respectful guy. I love that Wilmington is literally around the corner where you can all sorts of yummy food and trinkets. Will definitely be back!
