Nice views, rustic site
Great hosts and lovely view from the upper tent site. Outhouse available several minutes walk from site. There was a cooler with water & a wash basin which served as a makeshift sink, plus a grate over fire pit for cooking.
Peaceful, open, beautiful
We stayed in the upper field and it was absolutely beautiful. Great view of the rolling mountains, super private, and the hosts were great.
Will definitely keep this spot bookmarked for our next return up to this area of VT!
Staying at Heart of Vermont Farm was an amazing experience in many ways. The hosts, J.Lynn and Nate are rock solid human beings! They were welcoming, easy going, generous, informative, and clear in they’re insistence that if I needed anything, to let them know. They are delightful folks!
The land itself, is stunningly beautiful and the location of “The Farm” is ideal.—It’s a relatively short ride to Interstate 89 and to downtown Randolph.
I’m looking forward to turning some of my close friends on to this magical place. Again my experience there was exceptional (so much so that I stayed an extra week).
The hosts, J.Lynn and Nate really make the difference here!!!!
Needless to say, I highly recommend Heart of Vermont Farm. —It blew me away!
Site was exactly as described. In fact, I had the place to myself! Great views from the top of the meadow and a beautiful sunset. J.Lynn was a great host and check in/orientation was a breeze. Would recommend!
Nice rural setting
J.lynn was a wonderful host and even helped me get my site set up since we arrived late. She is a wealth of information about the area. J.lynn gave us some homemade kombucha which was also great!
The camp was private although it was right off the road so there is a bit of noise and the eating area is visible to the cars going by. Our tent was hidden however.
The added shower was a nice amenity.
The location is nice and relaxing but quite a ways from some things we wanted to do: about 40 mins to Ben & Jerrys and well over an hour from the Hwy 100 scenic drive and hiking. Be forewarned there is no cell service in most of the area so be prepared ahead of time and have a map! Several roads were closed and we had to reroute.
We had a great stay at Heart of Vermont Farm which was enhanced greatly by the incredible warmth and energy of the hosts. Upon our arrival, J. Lynn had prepared a hand-written welcome card for us along with a bouquet of hand-picked wildflowers (sunflowers of many colors) which was a sign of her creative energy. They also provided a composting toilet nearby decorated with similar flowers, a glass jug of freshly pumped spring water from their deep well, and a solar shower which was perfectly cool and refreshing after a warm day of exploring. In addition, they had just mowed a large portion of their fields with roads for us to easily travel to several open camping areas. There is a real community feeling to the owner’s homestead and they are multi-generational residents of the area and know many of the local farmers and wave to them as they drive by in their pickup trucks. They also offer a variety of produce, eggs and herbs as well as placing prize-winning animals in a fair taking place that weekend. Further, we enjoyed swimming off a bridge at a nearby lake. Our night was marked by another excellent view of the solar system, and the added benefit of the soothing sounds of meadow insects such as crickets and smell of freshly cut hay. Highly recommended.
