What a great weekend!
Our stay was amazing! Liz has everything you’ll need for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. From the river, to the deck, the kayaks, and the camp kitchen and awesome outdoor shower…there’s nothing better!
This had to be one of the best camping experiences I have had. Liz is a fantastic host! The tent has a spectacular view of the Connecticut River, there is a two layer deck and many amenities (shower, grill, stove top). We enjoyed kayaking and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. Liz made sure we were comfortable and even made a delicious breakfast for us.
Lots of laughs. Lots of memories. Tons of fun!!😊
We really enjoyed our stay. Liz was incredibly nice, and fun to chat with. The wood stove was a blessing. We used the kayaks for a morning, and it was awesome. She even gave us tips for places to stop and sightsee on the way to our next destination. Watching the sun rise over the water was our favorite part. I’ve already had friends ask me for the link so they can stay here.
Amazing stay and amazing host!
They stay at Circe’s Solace on the River was amazing! Although the temperatures were below freezing, the indoor wood burning stove kept us warm and the area around made everything so worth it! The view of the Connecticut River from the tent was beautiful at all times of day and night. Liz was an amazing, accommodating, and welcoming host and we were so honored to have such wonderful conversations with her. Would 100% come again!
Great spot, fantastic hospitality! Liz thinks of all the little things so you don't have to. My 5 year old son and I had a great weekend hanging out and kayaking up and down the Connecticut river! If you prefer to not cook, Liz provides an amazing vegan menu, delivered right to your tent!
Liz’s place was great! The view is just as good as in the pictures (more so I might even say), and wow does the wood stove keep things nice and toasty. We’d be happy to come back and next time try her cooking you can add on too.
Nice & cozy relaxing retreat
We are avid tent campers and go to many state forests over New England in the summer/fall season. We decided to try a hipcamp near Wilgus state park (where we normally camp over Labor Day) as something different. The view was beautiful, being right over the CT river with a private deck and a dock right on the water to relax on. Additionally, we had use of the 2 kayaks and a paddle boat the owner has on the property. While the photos may be a bit outdated from the listing; it didn’t deter us from having a wonderful time and it was still charming. It isn’t always fun camping in the rain, and while it didn’t rain the entire Labor Day wkd, it did enough for us to be grateful for the cover and the comfortable bed with a stove inside the camp to keep us cozy warm. Liz was a very gratuitous host and responded to any questions we had very quickly. My only caveat would be that the house behind is also rented out - so depending on the guests and what you are looking for, it could be a mix of seclusion or potential of sharing the property. We had a lovely family with a young daughter & dog and so it wasn’t intrusive and pretty quiet. (Hope they say the same for us!). So with that I would def would recommend staying here and hope to again in the future.
Liz has a beautiful site right on the river with everything you need. All sorts of cookware, kayaks, kitchen, firepit and a pretty decent comfortable double bed. Really, all you need is your personal items. It was extremely hot during our visit and Liz did everything possible to keep us comfortable, and the shower and the river were a God send! Plenty of attractions to visit in a short drive too.
