I stayed here for a quick one-night getaway and had the coziest time! Staying in a bus was absolutely whimsical. It rained most of the time I was there, so I didn't get to explore the property too much, but it cleared up just long enough for me to cook a nice meal on a camp stove, build a fire in the fire bowl, and roast some marshmallows. The sound of the rain on the bus was so soothing, it made for the most restful night of sleep. Being able to close all the doors to the bus also made me feel super safe camping alone. Already recommended to a few friends, and look forward to coming back sometime!
We really enjoyed our stay in Carol's bus. She was a very accommodating host! Her location is great and the bus is very well kept and fun to hang out in. Greensboro is a fun little corner of Vermont and the bus is only a few minutes from the town store, swimming, and hiking. The extra food we ordered with our stay was delicious and generous for the cost. We look forward to staying again sometime in the future!
Wonderful spot & wonderful host!
I had a wonderful stay in the Bus at Broadfork! The view from the bus and on the site is absolutely beautiful and I got to explore so many spectacular areas that I will never forget, all because of Carol's extensive knowledge of the area. And that brings me to CAROL. She is the BEST host I've ever experienced! (Though I'm new to Hipcamp, I've used Airbnb many times, so this is my basis). She has the best tips on what to see and do and will go above and beyond to help you! She is chockfull of helpful information, ready to answer all your questions and extremely kind and generous!
Bus was home away from home: cozy!
10/10 would recommend: bus was clean, cozy, and very spacious for one camper (my bestie car-camped next to site, but could have shared bus comfortably).
Host Carol was awesome: she recommended tons of eats and sites that only locals would know, she helped us with kayaks, and even gave us a heads up that a METEOR SHOWER was coming, so we got to watch shooting stars!!!
Even when there were logistics that needed solving (ie: shower controls), Carol was also fast to respond, solve it, and make things right. Every time I texted a question, Carol replied quickly. Conversely, she also gave us plenty of space and privacy, so there was no obligation to “hang out” or chit chat unless we wanted to.
Nearby Caspian Lake is heavenly. Cool towns and great food is never more than a 30-60 mine drive away. Host’s loaner bike was in good working order.
NOTE: you WILL hear a rooster in the morning, which we found really fun actually.
Idyllic setting, responsive host
There are so many great things to say about staying here, aside from the sweet, cozy minibus. First of all, the welcome plate was exactly that—so welcoming. After a long drive, it was exactly what we needed, and the bread was just out of the oven. Next, there’s the view. You’ll be overlooking a valley and the neighboring hill. When the skies are clear, lack of light pollution means a beautiful night sky. There’s also the proximity to Lake Caspian, just a couple of minutes’ drive down the road, which was a highlight of our stay. And finally, there was Carol herself, who gave us suggestions when we asked for them and was a quick text away. Highly recommend :)
Thanks for a perfect weekend 😊❤️
Our stay in the bus was magical! Sunsets and the welcome cheese boards overlooking the hillsides, hot showers with a view, stars by the fire pit, and a cozy, clean little bus to sleep in.
Carol was so amazing and made us a wonderful lunch, hitched the kayaks up for us, provided helpful suggestions and information to ensure we had a great weekend. She even accommodated my gluten intolerance last minute! So grateful ❤️
Great location with everything you
The bus is as cozy as it looks in pictures a perfect setup to enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful piece of land the bus sits on. Amazing beer, hiking and swimming just down the road. Trust Carols recommendations for things to do in the area they are on point. Would add fire tower pizza on lake Elmore as a personal fave just a short drive away! thanks for having us
