Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
Peace and quiet on 80 acres 360 views Close to many recreational activities including biking, hiking, river activities, ballooning, sky diving, climbing, etc. Very close to blue hills rd and Klondike bluffs 30 minutes North of Moab. 20 minutes on the highway and 10 minutes on easy to drive clay (can easily drive a bus and a Prius down this road) Antelope are regularly spotted Water included (no water at the moment), but no hookups Pit toilet Dogs allowed, but please plan on containing them as we don't want them chasing wildlife or invading others spaces. We have chickens close to the bus, you're welcome to come say hi to them. Please make sure dogs do not harass them. Things to know / disclaimers Desert winds can be strong Moab gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter If there is a light rain you will be fine - if there is a heavy rain, the road will become impassible.

Camping with Panoramic Views
I enjoyed how remote it was. No one else was there at the time I was. Or at least I didn’t notice. Great alternative to busy park camping, which is usually full anyway.

Best Moon Camping ever!
It truly is like camping on the moon, and if you are ready for that the it's great. The drive in is easier in daylight then at night. I had no trouble being my 2WD van in.

Outstanding atmosphere. Like camping on the moon. A dumpster would be nice to dispose of trash.

Do not Recommend!!!! Beware
Do not recommend. Very very hard to get to. Miles of non roads bottomed out my car 2x way in and out. There was no water, not even the hose they said would be. The "bathrooms" are not bathrooms, old out houses are better. Literally the worst camp site I have stayed at from Hipcamp. Nothing likes described!

If remote, and desolate, like the surface of the moon desolate, is what you're looking for, this is it! I suspect I'll be labeled a "catty reviewer" by Heather as a previous reviewer was but, oh well. To put this review in perspective, this was my third annual 9000+ mile / 30 - 45 day motocamping trip, solo. Last year I did Arizona to Alaska and back tent camping the entire way; I've seen quite the range of dispersed campsites. This place takes the dubious honor of the ugliest location I've seen for camping. If you want to see the cover picture of the beautiful mountain sunset, bring good binos or a telephoto lens cause otherwise, not happening. But I'm sure the stargazing is great. As I rolled up to the "campsite" the first thing that hit me was the smell of the open pit latrines. Granted, it was 90 degrees with a light breeze so I'm sure that didn't help. As I got off my bike, I was immediately assaulted with flies, and I mean a swarm of them. Possibly a result of the open pit latrines, or the open pit dump at the entrance? My alternative was to quickly set up the tent and get in it! I bailed. If there's any rain at all, forget it; you won't get in...or out. Initially communication with Heather was great. She worked with me when I told her I'd be running a day behind due to weather. But when I requested a refund, even a partial refund, crickets. After she had berated a previous "catty reviewer", she stated that all she had to do was request a refund.

Exactly as described, so read the description of the site. I needed a quiet place with a great view for an evening and morning. The sunset view of the La Sals was stunning. The solitude was was welcome after a day of road wear. A pronghorn doe and her fawn ran by as I drank my morning tea in the cool morning, well before the heat of day that was to come. It was hot when I arrived, but cooled down with the sunset, unlike camping next to redrock that emits heat all night long in the heat of summer. It took me 20 minutes to drive because I have a popup camper and didn't want a mess inside from the bumpy road. As long as there is no rain, any vehicle can drive this road. Just drive the speed that is comfortable to you. I drove 10 mph. The outhouses need some work on the day I was there. Only one was usable because the cloth door covering on one was completely torn and caught up on the various screws from the wind, and the floors had a few inches of dirt. This was possibly a one off event.
