Breathtaking views of water canyon
We had a beautiful stay at the Water Canyon Cliffside Tent #2. We were lucky enough to have a full moon and the view of the canyon walls in the moon light was incredible. We hiked the Water Canyon trail in the morning and had lunch on the cliffs above, what a view! We look forward to coming back.
The listing is just as described. Overall, it is a pretty good space with a way above average view. It’s more expensive than I’d typically pay for a campsite with so few amenities, but if you’re in it for a good view, it could make it worth it. We only stayed one of our two nights due to a storm that was rolling in the second day. The location isn’t super convenient, especially with the non maintained road leading up to it, but the drive to Zion wasn’t too bad! And Maxwell park is close and pretty nice. I read a lot of reviews on the road being super hard to get up and I had 0 issues getting up in my CR-V. However, I can see that in the rain it could be pretty rough to get up. The zipper on the tent is broken so we weren’t able to close it, which would’ve been a nice peace of mind/less bugs if it did zip. The deck is great.
My fiancé and I are young able bodied people and even we felt stairs or some sort of more developed pathway to the fire pit would’ve been great. Definitely doable without but since it’s down lower than the picnic table/deck it would’ve been nice to more easily bring food up. The bench is really rickety, but ok to sit on if you don’t move much. I also read a review that said lots of bees and mice, I didn’t see a single bee, but definitely heard lots of mice/saw some. Overall, it is as described.
Exactly what we had in mind!!!
Brad's Cliffside Tent Site was AMAZING!!! Clean, convenient and secluded. The hubs and I were celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary and wanted to check out Zion (did the Narrows) and have a camping experience vs. staying in a hotel/lodge. This site was EXACTLY what we had in mind and checked ALL the boxes; we will definitely return to the Water Canyon Cliffside Camp Site in the future!!!
Yes. stay here!
We loved staying here, and would highly recommend!
- We figured out that since it’s so close to the state line, our phones lost service while in AZ. This made for some confusion with morning plans, but worked out.
- be prepared to drive up a steep hill. We have an suv, and it was fine, but I can see how it could be complicated if it were muddy.
