If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Absolutely stunning! We had so much space and Travis was very helpful about letting us know the best spot to set up. We had a crazy windstorm happen right after dinner (for real, it was insane) which caused some chaos, but ultimately, we had a wonderful time (I would just suggest checking the weather for your trip!). I look forward to coming back!
Our experience was a series of preventable events that left our group trying to recover in a terrible situation.
We drive a 43 ft 5th wheel toy hauler that is incredibly large and heavy.
We're seasoned in beach camping and have always known the importance of planning ahead and making sure we're staying safe and making educated decisions on location.
I reached out to the host prior to booking, as well as upon arrival on areas we can park the rig or where we should stay.
While driving down on the designated area, we hit a sink hole. Taking our F350 and trailer to an 11 degree tilt sideways in a matter of seconds.
We drove all around the land and saw absolutely zero signs warning guests of the dangers on his land and when asked about where to camp, again, there was zero mention of anything that might be damming.
While we certainly understand things can happen, we were told he had multiple people in similar situations over the last few weeks and that they think there may be an "underground run off". Tbere was also plenty of evidence of other visitors digging out the further down the beach we explored later in the week.
Not sharing that information with guests is incredibly dangerous and detrimental.
We've got a 2 year old and I'm 6 monts pregnant and going from flat and solid ground to a sink hole so deep the front of our 5th wheel was resting on the bed of the truck almost immediately is incredibly jarring and terrifying.
He did send people the next morning with two winches, but unfortunately what they had wouldn't do the job.. We continued to sink throughout the night and had to call emergency services to help us out to the tune of a $2,600+ bill.
Travis the host did show up in the morning, but disappointing enough, didn't even come over to talk with us and or see how we were doing.
Even more so that there was zero follow up for the duration of our stay, (which we left early for) or even the days following.
I reached out to the host after our stay and having emergency services out and received zero response from him.
It is a private beach, if you're looking for your own space, but incredibly important to know where and how to stay safe and avoid a very large unexpected bill and a rather scary experience.
Our kids asked to live here …
This place was seriously awesome - right next to the water and the perfect stay - we will be back for sure. Our kids told us “this is the best day ever” like 100 times .
Awesome beach stay!
Awesome Beach Stay! We love Yuba but you can't really reserve a particular spot, so Travis's beach site was perfect! We brought a trailer, so we didn't use the bathrooms or shower, but they were available to use. We also rented a sea doo from them and it was the perfect addition to our stay.
