5 stars from a car camper
What a beautiful place! The sound of the river near the tent campsite added to the sight of the sunset showing off the colors of the back of Bryce Canyon. Clean toilet/showers. Loved the stafff (Nichol was a hoot! And she gave me the best recommendations for how to spend my time!). Each tent site had a fire pit and water spigot.
We stayed at Riverside Ranch while visiting Bryce Canyon, and I definitely recommend it. It is true that it doesn’t have the towering pines and in-the-park convenience of a National Park campground, BUT it was only a half hour drive from Bryce, and it was easy to get a reservation (no 6-months-ahead competition for a site). We had a clear view of the moon and sun rise over the mountains to the east, it was very quiet, and there was a potable water spigot at every campsite (and tents are well separated from RV’s, so no generator noise).. One of the best things about Riverside, though, is the bathhouse, which is clean and homey, comfortable, and has wonderful hot showers, in contrast with the National Parks restrooms, which in many cases, seem like they haven’t been updated since I was camping with my family as a child in the 60’s. It pains me to say that, since I spent 5 years as a Ranger-Naturalist with the Park Service in one of the “Jewel-in-the-Crown” parks, but the government really needs to spend more money on updating visitor facilities, especially since visitation is extremely high now.
Anyway I met with Riverside’s host Nichol, who is a sweetheart and extremely helpful. I think you’ll have a great camping experience at Riverside, whether you tent or travel in an RV!
Honestly one of the best campgrounds I’ve stayed at. Sure it’s by the highway so you might hear some car traffic but, showers and toilets were very clean, they have an awesome communal area and sell fire wood and ice in the office. Host was very kind to us.
Grassy camping on the river!
I loved the amenities and the grassy campsites! We were right in the river and campsite number 5 had a little more privacy than the rest with the trees and bushes. Having the toilets and showers was a big plus. They were clean and everything was well maintained. Hosts were very friendly. The perfect base camp for Bryce Canyon. I will definitely stay here again.
Great place to camp!
Beautiful views and great camp spot. We stayed here 3 nights and we loved it. Right next to the river and lots to see around it. 12 minutes from Red Canyon and 30 from Bryce.
The camp staff were fantastic. Nicole was so helpful and made sure we were set up and settled. It was a bit chilly so she even offered a few things to help us be comfortable. The bathrooms are nice, clean and they keep them warm. Lots of space to camp and outdoor activities like horseshoes and basketball are available.
We will be back and will be telling our friends about it!
Camping by the river!
Absolutely beautiful location! Nichol was super upbeat and friendly; she even let us know that if it stormed too hard, we could crash in their rec room. Clean facilities and overal great camping by the river! I will definitely be back.
The bathhouse was heated and it was super nice to have running water and flush toilets after all the vault bathrooms we have used;). Our host was very friendly and helpful as well.
