****Winter is here until 4/9 and winter water is only available to fill your fresh water tank. This we can do for you once every 2 days of your stay! Contact us if you have your own water and we will remove the 2 night minimum so you can stay one night if you wish.

****With only five sites total our park never feels crowded. Sites are staggered and space between sites is over double a normal RV park.

****We have lots of area information to share with you after 20+ years of experience here; some of it in visitor centers and as a professional guides.

****Our community is relaxed, funky, and quiet. Hours can go by with no vehicle traffic. What a contrast to the never-ending drone of traffic noise around Moab.

Please note: We are located on the edge of a rural Utah town: a living ghost town from the uranium boom. Be sure you are open to some rural funky-ness and please read to the bottom for details before requesting a booking. Thanks! (You must have your own working toilet to stay here. We do not have public restrooms.)

(COVID-19 update: Utah Statewide mask mandate was lifted 4/10/2021 . We continue to sanitize  surfaces, such as water spigots, between campers.)

The Adventure Haven is a five site mini-RV park located in an old and sparsely occupied subdivision of 1.5 acre lots in a town with a population of about 300.  A uranium boom town in the 1950's, La Sal is now a shadow of past times (and littered with artifact trailers and structures). But La Sal is in a pristine location: we are at the foothills of the La Sal Mountains and the park has a completely unobstructed view of this range!

All sites have water, sewer, free and good WiFi, and 30 amp electric service (two have 50amp).  We also have two spacious fire rings with a view to the mountain, and two portable fire pits. Our park is new, clean and open with a solid road base surface. Sites can accommodate 40 foot plus units, but all require some backing.

The La Sal vibe: as in any rural community, old junk is seen as valuable assets, and "curb appeal" is not in the local vocabulary (actually we don't have curbs or street lights here, and half the town has dirt roads). But it is peaceful here, a refreshing get away. We have some of the darkest skies anywhere, and hours can go by with no traffic at all, but make no mistake, this is still funky, rural Utah.

We have built a tall privacy fence so you don't have to look at our treasure. Looking north and west, the Adventure Haven feels fairly secluded: houses are mostly obscured or out of sight in these directions. A row of large aspen trees is along one side of the camp with our neighbor obscured, but not far away. Two funky old house trailers are visible to the south (just across the street), but camps face North with unobstructed views to the mountain. We are on the very northwest edge of this old community.

This is absolutely NOT a place for a late night party, but it is a good place for normal gatherings. (You can stay up late and enjoy the night sky and talk, but if you get wild you will get shut down.)

People in general find it to be quite nice as well as a good value. The Adventure Haven feels open, public and safe to most people. Funky and rural, in high pristine desert with a sweet view of the mountain is the overall vibe.

The Needles district of Canyonlands is about 1 hour from Camp; Moab and Arches National Park are only 35 minutes away, and there are exciting features to explore right in our neighborhood.

• Looking Glass Arch, Lopez Arch and Wilson Arch are all about 15 minutes away!

• The world-famous motorcycle route, Colorado 90, begins just 12 miles away, with fine scenery all the way.

• Hook and Ladder OHV Trail system is less that five miles from the Adventure Haven, the dirt starting in only 2. The Rim Rocker Trail can be accessed from here as well by driving a few miles on pavement.

• Forest Service access to the La Sal Mountains is less than 7 miles away for an escape into alpine coolness, with fishing at Medicine Lake 15 miles from here.

Note: Only mellow, quiet, and controlled pets are allowed here, and only two per site. Pets must be on a leash and owners must pick up after them. Please tell us about your pet in the booking request.

Please consider that this place may not be suitable for your children. The perimeter is well marked, but is not child proof and there are hazards, such as an irrigation ditch, beyond it. We also lack a play area, but there is a nice one at the elementary school 2.5 miles away. Please include the age of your children when requesting a booking. Thanks!

Host James was very professional and kind. He sends very detailed directions, & meets you outside to help you to your site. He provided vast information about my planned visit to Arches national park. He was very accommodating, but unfortunately our timing didn’t work out for me to fill up water in these cold months (although this is a service he will provide). He is forthcoming in his description of the area, so take note of this. There were beautiful views of the mountains from my site and I did feel safe. However, the area is remote and the surrounding houses are more run down with lots of scrap in their yards and you will also see this from your site. A little pricey considering that, however it seems you’ll pay more for full hook ups the closer you get to Moab.

Stayed a night at James and Linda's RV site. They had all the hookups we needed including electric, wifi, sewage, and water. The surroundings are quite beautiful, with a view of the La Sal Mountains situated nearby and good stargazing at night. But the best part is that James and Linda are such great hosts. They're very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas of Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. Our route when leaving Moab was still undecided and James gave us a bunch of tips and recommendations on routes to take and things to see which proved to be really helpful.

Highly recommend this stay!

James and Linda were extraordinary hosts. They were warm, nice, friendly and extremely helpful. Our vacations would not have been the same without their useful recommendations. They know the area very well, and they could told us where, and how to go. We profited a lot of their experience, and therefore we are very grateful for their dedication to making our vacation the best experience that we could have. The place is quiet, the view to the mountain is breathtaking, and all the services in the RV parking are excellent: water, wifi, electricity, etc. Thank you James and Linda for welcoming us at your place!

Adventure Haven provides great support for campers. Host Linda has a handy tour of the Canyonlands Island in the Sky area based on her years working there. The location is convenient to the Needles area too and to Moab.

We enjoyed our stay at Adventure Haven! James was a great host, very helpful in providing info on the area and helping us get settled. The view was incredible and we enjoyed being spread out and not cramped in like most RV parks. There were some issues with the internet which we needed for work, and James went above and beyond trying to resolve the issues. Unfortunately it never did work consistently enough during our stay for us to have a strong connection for work, so we ended up having to commute into Moab during the week. He did everything possible to help us out and I'm sure this would be resolved for future campers. We would stay again if we come through the area again!
