Cute yurt in an absolutely amazing location! Great "glamping" experience, with a wood stove to stay warm, stove for food, and enough solar power to keep the lights going. It's surrounded by wide open land with some forest and mountain views. The big bed is comfortable and a great change of pace after tent camping!
Fun and secluded place
We really thought the Juniper Yurt was cool. The stars at night were insane! Great stay that is midway between 'roughing it' and a fancy glamping cabin. The drive to get to the site was actually really neat, too -- just off the beaten path (with some dusty roads), but easy enough to locate.
My young adult sons, my friend, and I all really really enjoyed staying in this yurt! The campfire and the night sky was absolutely amazing! One tip that we missed is to definitely bring water. I absolutely recommend this place!
My son, his 3 boys and I stayed at Juniper yurt Jan 23. 4 inches snow, 25 overnight, 4 more inches in morning. As advised, we brought sleeping bags, water, paper and kindling and extra wood (although there was plenty) and stayed comfort able. Rather than an inconvenience, we were treated to the spectacle of snow in the desert! Super sweet accommodation to just hang or base camp from which to explore the area.
Staying in the yurt was wonderful! Lots of space and so great to have lots of wood to burn in the wood stove (thanks, Todd!). We kept plenty warm with the fire going, and Todd was accommodating and easy to communicate with.
It was amazing staying at the Juniper Yurt .
We enjoyed our stay. Todd was a good host.
Take a truck or SUV instead of sedan as there is gravel road upto 5 miles off from the main road and definitely recommend staying there . Go early before it gets dark as finding the place may be challenging.
Todd’s yurt was wonderful and everything we wanted and needed. Directions were on point and we had everything we needed. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality! We would definitely come again and recommend.
Absolutely loved it
We had a wonderful stay! The yurt was totally private and peaceful. We embraced the outdoor shower & toilet set up, it was perfect for what we wanted. The yurt was very hot when we arrived and although it was noted that there would be a fan, we couldn’t actually locate it so we opened all the yurt window blinds/opened the door and it cooled down to a nice temperature after a while and as evening set in. We sat out out on the small front deck for the evening and were delighted to be joined by the neighbours dog who stayed with us all evening and slept outside the door :) he was a joy because we are dog people but he did steal and swallow whole, a pair of underwear I left outside to dry in the sun :O The bed covers were Clean and the bed super comfy. If I had to pick at one thing it would be the kitchen set up. While it was well stocked with plates & cups etc, they were all very dirty and neeeded to be washed before use. The sponge left by the sink for washing up was vile and should have seen the trash can a long time ago. That’s my only complaint, I would stay again if I was back in the area and the weather was nice - would have loved to use the stove but it was too hot, maybe next time we’ll come when the weather is cooler :)
