The intention of campsite placement is to maximize experience. It provides a sense of camping remotely, similar to a backpacking trip. It is also intended to provide the best shade during the summer months and soothing sounds from the creek. We have built a new crossing for the creek and direct access to the tent sites are available for most vehicles. If you ddo not have a suitable vehicle, a wagon and foot bridge are available and only requires a short walk. A bathroom has been installed very near the tent sites and no longer requires crossing the creek. Cooking area has full sized stove and grill. Propane is included. This is especially recommended if your stay is only overnight.
During monsoon season (July - September) weather can present issues to safety and site access. We have 53 acres, so space is not an issue. We will always have a place, but there may be some modifications to consider as it gets closer to your arrival date.
All sites on our property are creek side and provide afternoon shade. Lush vegetation straddles a year around flowing creek. Our campsites are widely spaced to maximize privacy. We have 53 acres and only 3 tent sites! Foot bridge provides close access to the bathroom & shower. Multiple trails leave right from our property that lead to sweeping views, a tunnel and desert solitude.
A tip for camping in the desert fall and winter, expect perfect days and cool crisp nights. Fires are allowed and wood can be sourced nearby.
Entrance to Zion National Park in Springdale is a 20 minute drive. We are located off Kolob Terrace Road that heads up to the higher and cooler elevations of Zion. Access off Kolob Terrace Road includes West Rim Trail, Lava Point Overlook, Wildcat Canyon Trail, Kolob Reservoir & a ton more.
4WD & HIgh Clearance vehicles only have direct access to tent sites. AWD vehicles will NOT make it at this time. In the case your vehicle can't access the sites, we now have a cable trolley to move your gear across the creek! Wagons/Wheelbarrows available as well. We'd be happy to assist you.
I have recently learned that some sites were having issues with ants. Easily solved. I am managing the issue and have spray available for guest use at each site. Please let me know upon setting up if you see any in your site.

Kolob Gate Gardens is a wonderful place to camp. Matthew is very accommodating and friendly. I love the creek that runs by the campsite and view of the night sky. I will be staying here again!
We loved staying here! The scenery is stunning and the sites are well-spaced and private. There are so many small touches that made it feel special, too. It's obvious that Matthew has put a lot of care into creating this amazing place!
Very smooth camping surface, beautiful, great hosting job by Matthew! He kept the bathrooms, sinks, and other areas looking very clean and nice. The only unfortunate thing was the shower didn't work our last day there, but Matthew was working hard on it and he was on top of it.
This camping was perfectly rustic, with amenities, and convenient to Zion. The site was absolutely beautiful next to a babbling brook, and had a little table that ended up being VERY helpful! There is a common camp kitchen area, common shower with heat option, and the cleanest port-a-potty I have ever been in! The host was extremely helpful and informative, and patient with our questions. It was a wonderful experience, we are so thankful for it!
This place is great. Due to rain, our campsite wasn’t accessible but Matthew was super accommodating. It was easy to access and use the grill and bathroom and the property has a lot of great touches to add to the experience. Super close (10 mins) to the trailhead for the subway and we were able to get an early start to our hike which was awesome.
