Nestled in the Uintas and Wasatch Cache National Forests, Geronimo Ranch has perfect views from its 7200ft elevation. Before pilgrims settled these lands  in the 1880's the region was home to the Ute indians and the abundant wildlife and Gambel Oak (thus the name Oakley).  Even though this area is known for the peaceful and serene setting, Butch Cassidy and many other gold seeking bandits had been known to hideout here and potentially find some success in the famed Rhodes Gold Mine located somewhere in the Kamas Valley. Regardless of your mining skills, there is a ton of things to do within the 15  mile radius of Geronimo Ranch. Named for the famed Apache Warrior and our top of the mountain location. We were delighted to learn that the Mescalero meaning is "One Who Yawns" - which is a perfect way to look at our ranch after your exciting day outside.  Our property has been recently renovated to give us the modern luxury and outdoor enthusiast twist that we love. The hosts practice Native American Healing and craft custom dreamcatchers that the tipi doubles for as a studio.  Since we are also real estate agents and developers, we spent quite a bit of time looking for the perfect location to make our dream house and though small we have found it in Geronimo Ranch. We sold our place in the city and headed towards the mountains to live here full time in 2016 and we have never looked back.  Our philosophy is to live with as little impact on our mother earth as possible but to use our home as a conduit of her beauty. There is cell reception, wi-fi, electricity readily available but do yourself a favor and unplug for the weekend in Geronimo fashion.

Great Experience-Camping in Comfort
Great location at 7000 ft. was cool for the hot summer. Authentic Indian teepee is so unique and had a spiritual feelin. Comfortable with a nice big blow up mattress. Plus you get the large deck to spread out. Awesome star filled nights and close to Mirror Lake highway and the High country which is why we were there! Hosts were fun and happily took us up to the private lake... New friends were made!! I will be back. Thanks Amber and Lee!!

Loved Geronimo Ranch!
This place was great - host was terrific and really bent over backwards for us. Comfy bed, clean and nice. Pro tip: do bring a sleeping bag. My hubz was fine but I was really cold at night and in the early morning and because there are no campfires, without blankets all you can do is sit in the car. Our visit was in August on a warmer than typical day.

A local staying for some kid magic
Our stay at Geronimo Ranch was fun. I took my 5 year old to experience a night in the teepee, and it was magical with the fairly lights and Amber even left a children's book. The deck is great, and also the deluxe porta potty was nice. It isn't away from it all (gated rural community) but for us that was great because Amber and Lee were there to help (novice campers). The teepee is steps from their home. Lee helped me get there which was much appreciated, and was very gracious and took us for a ride to see the private lake nearby, and helped us park on the steep gravel slope. They both were great with my son. We were cold in the night and I'm sure a small critter was on the bed, but hey - it's camping! I know to better prepare next time. It was fun.

Geronimo Ranch
Our stay was terrific! Lee and Amber are wonderfully great hosts. They provided us with extra blankets for the cold night, gave us a tour of the lake and made sure we had a great night. The teepee is a one of a kind experience, recommended for everyone!
