Intro: I'm a nurse who is constantly around noise, so when I'm away from work, I like quiet spots where I can peek at the starlit skies without light pollution and hear nearby rivers, streams, brooks, and waterfalls! I enjoy traveling, cooking, riding bicycles, and getting a good night's sleep :)
Cindy is a wonderful host! She met us at the site and provided a packet about Thompson Falls. The campsite was clean with great amenities. The bike and pedestrian trail that takes you into downtown Thompson Falls is very close and convenient. The animals on the ranch were friendly and well-cared for. Both Mark and Cindy love their ranch and it shows! Thank you for the peaceful campsite.
The campsite definitely sits atop the mountain! You feel like you're truly getting away as you make your way up the road. Private site with great views. Barbara even brought jugs of water to the campsite to ensure we could follow through with the best fire extinguishing practices. We opted to not make a campfire given the extreme fire risk and current fires in the surrounding states. There was ample log seating and two flat table-like surfaces available. I'd definitely recommend 4WD or AWD and nothing less and the higher clearance, the better. The ground was flat, but the soil underneath was rocky, so I'd recommend a hammer to drive in the tent spikes. If you can get away without the rainfly on the tent, keep it off so you can see the incredibly dark, clear skies that's ideal for stargazing, straight from lying down in your tent!
