This was a finalist as one of the top locations to stay in North Carolina for a reason. All expectations were met/exceeded with this trip. My family and I were looking for a safe and secluded place to unplug, unwind, and reset for the New Year. Our Tiny House experience did just that and more. I was worried when I booked the trip, that after a few days, we would get cabin fever. In reality, after a few days, I was regretting not booking the house for longer.
The House: Simple, clean, and charming. We stayed over New Years, so I brought a small space heater, but ultimately it was not needed, as the wood stove does an ample job of warming the house. It was nice to have in the mornings until the fire started up. dishes/utensils/bedding/towels were all provided as well as a full sized fridge. we purchased fresh eggs and pork from Angela and Jesse which was delicious and was there waiting for us. The house is secluded on their private property overlooking a creek which serves as perfect background noise while enjoying your coffee or heading to bed.
Surroundings: Again, the house is secluded on private property next to a winding creek. We took the trail up to the waterfall and let our dogs run around to their heart's content. We also stopped down and met Ziggy and Moonpie who let us pet them and feed them apples (not a fan of carrots). There is a ton of room to hike and roam and let your dogs do the same. There is also a small lake near by, but was closed due to the season. You are about 30-45 min away from Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk. There is a Walmart 10 min away for any grocery needs, and room to park any RV/Camper by the house.
Overall Experience: We couldn't have asked for a better time, even with some rain. We had the chance to meet Angela and Jesse and listen to their great story of how they came to build in this area. Angela even let my daughter fetch her own eggs from the Chicken Coop, which made her day. They are relaxed, and accommodating, and it was a pleasure to meet them both. This experience allowed us to slow down a bit, spend time just enjoying each other's company, and recharge after a crazy year. Thank you for hosting, and we are already planning our return visit.

I was almost tempted to leave a poor review in hopes people would see it and not want to discover this hidden gem in Charleston. What a beautiful place. 110 acres of peace. What a gracious host. Lizabeth is kind and accommodating, and everything you hope for in a host. The horses and goats and dogs and other animals make your stay entertaining and add to the tranquility. I will most definitely be back.
