Past trips
Site 3 - Primitive West Texas ranch camping
in Rattlesnake Racing Adventures, TexasPleasant night of camping
We pitched our tent here halfway along the drive from southern Texas to northern Colorado. There were many nice flat spots for our tent in the pasture, a view of Stamford Lake in the distance, and great stars. Leiza was great with communication, and it was very easy to find and access the site.
Catfish Tank Under the Stars
in Big Stars Farm, TexasPrivate, peaceful, lots of wildlife
Samantha met us at the gate and led us to the campsite. Lots of flat space to pitch a tent, right on a sweet little pond, with scattered small trees. We heard coyotes, an owl, quail, ducks, and other birds. The campsite was completely private and peaceful.
Goose Creek Lost Acre
in East Woods on the IL River, IllinoisA great road-trip campsite!
This was a perfect spot to pitch a tent for a night on a road trip from Rhode Island to Colorado. There is a private tent spot and firepit tucked away in the woods behind the backyard of a house, by a small creek. Because we were just there for the night, we set up our tent up against the trees on the expansive soft flat lawn outside the woods. It was extremely easy and private. There are train tracks close by, and three trains passed by in the night. They blew their whistles quite a bit, but it wasn't a problem to get back to sleep. Katie was very friendly and communicative, met us at the road after dark, and showed us the way to the campsite.
