Past trip
in Pool Ranch, CaliforniaSeclusion in reach of amenities!
The Overlandia backcountry site was awesome. Julie & Andy made us feel super welcomed and comfortable during our stay. The plot itself is close enough to the main area of their property that you're just a short walk from amenities like shower/toilet/community kitchen/etc. But it's far enough out that you get some nice privacy and seclusion. The view of the desert hills is incredible and the night time darkness allows for great stargazing. The dirt road to get to the camp site is a bit bumpy, but I had no problem making it in my little compact car that has pretty minimal ground clearance.

in Pool Ranch, CaliforniaCozy cabin with gorgeous view
Our stay in Julie & Andy's A-Frame was awesome. It is a beautifully minimal little cabin that has magnificent views and kept us warm and cozy all night.
Julie & Andy were great hosts, making us feel welcome and included throughout our trip, while also making sure we could have all the privacy and seclusion that we wanted. The site itself has all the basic amenities and then some. Would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a beautiful desert getaway and I will definitely be visiting again!

Our stay in Brenda's RV park was just OK. The area is lovely, mostly quiet and dark at night which makes for great stargazing.
Unfortunately, there were a few things that made our stay a little less enjoyable than expected. There was dog poop on the grounds (presumably from a previous guest?) that was left right next to the picnic table. This was unfortunate for us, especially because we had to pay an added pet fee to allow our dogs to join us on our stay. There was also broken glass littered on the ground that our dogs stepped on. Also, we were unable to empty the trash from our RV because the provided trash can on the premises was completely full.
Another thing to note that may or may not be an issue if you're looking to book a stay here: the property is located fairly close to a major freeway. So while this does provide some convenience, it also means that you can see the lights and hear the noise from traffic at night. The noise isn't intolerable, but just know that it's there.

(Site 5)
Stayed a night at James and Linda's RV site. They had all the hookups we needed including electric, wifi, sewage, and water. The surroundings are quite beautiful, with a view of the La Sal Mountains situated nearby and good stargazing at night. But the best part is that James and Linda are such great hosts. They're very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas of Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. Our route when leaving Moab was still undecided and James gave us a bunch of tips and recommendations on routes to take and things to see which proved to be really helpful.
Highly recommend this stay!

Krissie's campsite was surrounded by the beautiful buttes and spires that make up Monument Valley. It is also located just a few minutes drive from the entrance to the Navajo Tribal Park, which is a must-see.
The dogs on her property were very friendly and we had no issues with them at all.
I highly recommend a stay at Krissie's and I would absolutely visit again myself.

(Site 6)
The campground itself is so lovely. We had site #6 and loved the tiered setup so we could feel even more nestled in the beautiful redwoods. The bathrooms were nice and clean. The one negative was the neighbors. 99% of the other campers were quiet, but the site closest to us was so loud and noisy late into the night. We asked them to quiet down, but it didn't help much. This is a more condensed campground rather than dispersed, backcountry camping, so just bear in mind that your neighbors might be frat guys playing beer pong and talking about how "Kanye is so fire" all night long.
