We were the only ones on the 5 site property during our stay. A nice piece of land nestled among the rolling hills along a county road. We stayed in site 3 and were clearly the first to stay here as the fire ring was brand new and had green grass in it still. The toilet is a portapot I didn’t use but the kids, 5-6, said “it’s clean like a real toilet” porcupine and deer are around the area along with many many frogs with pleasant sounds of their natural lullaby to put you to sleep. My only complaint was you could hear the road which being a county road was still fairly busy until 1am when we all went to bed
Superior Times Campground
in Superior Times Resort, MichiganBusier than i had hoped
A small family run campground that is more geared toward trailers and RVs than primitive tent camping. If you’re looking to stay at a campground all day and not explore the local attractions then this place would be great, however if you’re looking for a place to rest your head and recoop I would look else where. Showers were hot and bathrooms were very well kept and stocked. Not a bad review just not exactly as I had thought it would be. The sites are close together and few trees separated them where we stayed.
Surf Camp on Lake Michigan
in Surf Camp on Lake Michigan, MichiganCalm and quiet
Exactly as advertised, the place is an absolute slice of paradise hidden away outside of a small town down some dirt roads, navigating there was no challenge. If you feel you’ve gone the wrong way just keep going. During our 2 day stay we quickly noticed all of Eli’s recommendations were spot on, Clyde’s was a hit for adults and kids. The gas station has the cleanest restrooms around and an abundance of supplies if you happen to have forgotten anything. Firewood in the area is cheap if you buy roadside local, which I highly recommend. The only negative is in our 2 days we did pick up 3 ticks between the five of us more, don’t let that turn you away from this best of Michigan site.
