Strange experience, strict policies
Allison D.doesn't recommend this listing.
(Dispersed site)
I would not stay here again. If you are looking for a flexible and easy-going camping experience, I would look elsewhere because the host has very strict policies. No kids, no pets, no smoking. The check in window is firmly 4-7 pm which feels narrow for a campsite.
We had booked/paid for three nights but could stay on the third day due to some travel changes. When I asked if we could come earlier in the day, she said:
“Sorry, check in time is from 4 pm to 7 pm. Noone is there before then, therefore no checkin before then either. If you can check in between now and 9:30 am then you can arrive early, otherwise this is a private ranch with only 2 people here and today we both have appointmetns. That is why check-in times are firm”, and “if we wanted to cancel our reservation, then go ahead.”
I felt this to be very rude and off putting given that we had already paid for two nights. We ended up rushing to arrive at 9:30 am before she left the site. She said she needed to be there for the check in process so she could tell us where to camp, about the rules, and tell us how to use the showers which only took a few minutes. I understand that it’s a private ranch and she wants to meet the campers on her site, but some flexibility would have been appreciated. For example, numbered / assigned campsites and printed instructions for using the showers; then campers could check in when she arrives.
The space itself is in a beautiful area. However, as other reviewers have stated, the campsites are quite close to the host’s house and does not feel private.
Would not recommend.

Wow, a lovely little gem in the middle of Kansas! Served as the perfect spot to spend a night on a road trip. Loved getting to be close to the horses and play with lots of kittens! There is a cute downtown area a couple miles down the road. Stephanie gave us some good recommendations of where to eat. Hope to stop by again soon!

Redwater Revival Campground
in Redwater Revival Campground, South DakotaHerb is a legend!!
Stop what you’re doing and book this incredible campsite. Enjoyed spending time in Beulah at the bar and restaurant- good food, good people, good times!! Not too far from other Black Hills attractions as well. Herb is a super nice and easygoing guy. Exactly what we wanted. We ended up extending our trip 2 extra nights. Can’t wait to return again someday!

Wow! A magical little wonderland campsite only a couple minutes from the most gorgeous creek. Misty was available to provide us with a map and point out where to snag some firewood. The shut ins ended up being our own little private oasis which was so refreshing in the heat. Loved this campsite and can’t wait to return during all seasons!! Being only 1,5 hrs away from stl, we hope to return often this summer :) thank you Misty!
