The Texas Music River Ranch is 111 acres located in the quaint village of Webberville, Texas, only 20 miles east of downtown Austin. The large oak and pecan trees amid the rolling green hills of this gorgeous ranch land are nestled on the banks of the lazy Colorado River. Swim, kayak, or canoe...but there’s no better way to beat the legendary Texas heat than by grabbing an inner tube and enjoying a calm, steady float along a river known for an abundance of fossils and its wildlife. Bring your own tubes, kayaks and canoes, we are currently replenishing our inventory. Or perhaps you prefer to fish the shady tree-lined banks. Either way, you'll see a variety of birds while you relax on or beside the cool waters of the Colorado River. We're kid and dog friendly and we love musicians. Bring an instrument and join us for an impromptu jam session in our special events room or around the campfire. Cook dinner on our BBQ pit. Firewood is available onsite A few rules... 1. TMR SITE 2 Electric& Water
Not what we were expecting.
To reach the campground you go down a dirt road that is at times a single lane. The signs were a little confusing but we found the office area. We rented a RV campsite that said it included 30 amp electricity and water. When we arrived, this seemed to be a confusing request. Most of their sites have no hookups and are are down along the river. The river camping sites look to be beautiful sites for tent camping. Eventually we were placed behind some buildings that looked like storage buildings with a view of a big brush pile. The site was a relatively flat RV pad to park on. We initially had trouble with electricity cutting out and coming back. Apparently the RV plug is on the same circuit as the storage buildings. This seemed to be resolved but we were careful not to run our air conditioner or microwave very much. There was a water spigot but it was further away than our drinking water hose would reach. They offered to let us use a regular garden hose but I decided against it. Instead I use the water tank on my RV. I did use The spigot as a resource to refill my tank. The general feel was very rustic. The river is nearby. We slept well and saw many birds including a big owl. We didn't see the staff after we checked in, but the staff was helpful. Will I stay here again? Maybe. Will I recommend it to others? With some reservation.

Solo Traveler
As a solo female traveler I felt incredibly uneasy about this site. The grounds were not well maintained and I never really knew who my host was. Every other HipCamp host I’ve stayed with has greeted me and been very friendly. Upon arrival I was told to call the main office and someone would guide me to my spot. I called all three numbers provided and none of them would let me talk to an actual person because they weren’t set up. One of the first things I heard upon arrival was gunshots. I’m not afraid of guns as I’ve been around them my entire life, but it’s not what you want to hear when you pull into a very unfamiliar place. I ended up staying in my campsite for a total of 30 minutes before I decided I wasn’t comfortable and drove nearly an hour to stay with a family friend. If you are going to put a listing like this up you should go above and beyond to welcome your guests. I wouldn’t recommend this campsite to anyone.

Perfectly Peaceful
I spent 7 nights there. The host Phoenix was super friendly and helpful and went out of the way to make sure I was happy with the accommodations. The views of the fields from my campsite were beautiful, the sunrises and sunsets were magical. I was only 20 minutes from Austin but it felt like I was in the shire in Middle Earth, no people or city congestion for miles. I didn't have any issues with coyotes or wild boar or anything that might be a cause for worry like some hipcamps this far south. I did however receive a symphony of frogs and crickets and owls every night that provided the perfect white noise to sleep like a baby.

The campsites are generally nice and spaced out a good distance but the grounds were not very well mowed or trimmed the showers were not working and the portal bathrooms were very dirty. I will probably return later in the fall. Hopefully they have improved!

I loemved tent camping here. It’s very chill, private and big space! You don’t have the restrictions of state parks but feels just as safe. The people were super friendly and helpful. Would recommend 100%
