Tent camping was amazing at the Sky Ranch North Shelter. Directions were clear and easy to follow, shelter was well maintained, exemplary views and amazing sunset! Would highly recommend to family and friends! Hosts/ management were very accommodating even after we confused our reservation dates. Appreciated the solitude and peaceful setting. Stargazing was also spectacular! Exceeded our expectations!

This was our 3rd time at the Sky Ranch North Shelter, obviously we love the site! The location is perfect - a quick drive into town or BBNP - but also removed from the hustle and bustle. The fire pit and the stars are the show stoppers for us, but the attention to detail on the shelter construction is also highly appreciated!

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved staying here. The views were beautiful, quiet and secluded. We enjoyed having the little tea lights inside the shelter. You can tell they put thought into the little things that made the ambience special! Our host was sweet and quick to respond! The drive to Big Bend wasn’t too far so that was a plus! We would definitely be back when we make a trip back to Big Bend :)

What a great escape. We especially liked the cement brick fireplace and clear, starry skies. The wooden shelter, raised well off ground level, was sturdy and well-constructed. The host was friendly, helpful, and responsive. As warned, none of us had cell service at camp. Not at all the host’s fault, but if I were to return, it’d be in late fall or winter (peak Big Bend season). We went in early May and it was a bit too hot, reaching 105 during our Saturday hike at Santa Elena Canyon and around 100 at camp.

This place was awesome! Private, secuded and everything I was looking for! The shelter is a great addition too! Definitely helped my tent from blowing all around with the high wind that happens in the desert. Would definitely stay again!

It was perfect! Quiet, remote, and beautiful. It was a good location for day trips into the park and Terlingua.

This was our second time staying at this site and we loved it. We used the fire pit for cooking and relaxation each evening. And the shelter offers great protection from the elements. It was windy and sleeting one of the nights and the shelter kept the wind and rain off of our tents for the most part. My rainfly was off and I still managed to stay dry.
