Located in a rural area in Central Texas, this site sits on top of a nice hill commanding bucolic views of the countryside. Being rural, there are cows grazing, farmers plowing and harvesting (depending on season) and after dark you are likely to hear the yip yip of coyotes. Our place is within an easy 45 minutes to the Silos and other points of interest in Waco, 35 minutes to Temple and the Baylor Scott and White Medical Center. The small town of Rosebud is 10 minutes away and offers a grocery store, a hardware store (worth the drive for this alone!), a lumber yard, feed store, as well as several other small town stores. Other shopping of interest includes the local Westphalia Meat Market where you still tell the butcher at the counter what you want and he wraps it up for you, Green's Sausage House for amazing kolache, homemade bread, cookies, small cafe (try the sausage burger!) as well as a fresh meat counter full of a variety of sausages. Upon arrival, there is a booklet available from the host outlining many other "rural" things to do in the area.

What a beautiful piece of property! Sue and Tommy were amazing hosts and made you feel like part of the family. Level sites with water and electric hookups made staying here a breeze. Our boys loved flying their kites in the big open field.
Lovely site off the beaten path
We're on an extended road trip, moving campsites every night, but we wanted to take a break and spend the weekend in a quiet, beautiful spot off the beaten path for a little R&R. We couldn't have picked a better place. The site is on a little rise which gives it a great view especially at sunrise, and we were greeted each day with lots of birdsong. Sue and Tom provide power and water hookups as well as fire pit, grill, and lovely table and chairs under an awning. They are charming hosts and the communication is great. We felt completely relaxed here. Pro tip: the nearby town of Rosebud has the tidiest laundromat ever, as well as a DQ for a treat while you do your laundry!
Beautiful and peaceful experience!
We enjoyed every minute of our stay! Sue and Tommy are exceptional people and great hosts! Their property offers a beautiful peaceful view and the quiet get away that we needed. We will be returning soon!
Great view from the hill….
