Great little place with convenient access to both BBRSP and Presidio. Lovely and quiet with a great view of the sky, you can catch both the sunrise and sunset from camp. We'll definitely be back.

Great views of sunrise and sunset from this site and the fire ring is really terrific. Quiet as can be. Facilities are clean and tidy and hosts very friendly and responsive. Great access to west entrance of State Park. Lots of exposure here so be prepared - wind etc.

We booked this site as a backup in case we could not find any campsites as we passed through Big Bend National Park & Big Bend Ranch State Park. We found a site in BBR, but felt it wasn’t ideal and chose to drive to Rio Bravo, and we were so glad we did! Rio Bravo was easy to find and access (we arrived at night in complete darkness). It was a level spot that easily fit our Ford transit xl. The site is surrounded by beautiful views all around you, with a big night sky full of stars. We were able to see fellow hipcampers at the nearby site, but wasn’t a problem. Its also nice knowing there is a locked gate behind you.

This was a beautiful place to camp. We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay for another day. It is well maintained and the directions were perfect. The views, sunsets, stars were all wonderful. Plus you have no neighbors. Thank you for sharing your ranch with us.

This was our second trip to Rio Bravo Ranch and our first stay at RB1. The views from RB1 were only matched by magical sunrises, sunsets, and stars galore. We left with our souls filled to the brim! Lauren, Charlie, and family rescued us from a bit of a pickle upon our arrival and delivered us safely to our campsite! With every visit, they have made us feel like old friends visiting the ranch. This West Texas hospitality cannot be matched by the fanciest of accommodations! We’ll see y’all again soon!

Rio Bravo is everything you could want from a trip to the Lower Big Bend! The camp sites are easily accessible, well equipped with shade, fire pits and camp pads and most importantly, the stellar (and very clean) Chinati Potty. Lauren and family have created a safe, yet daringly desolate location for anyone looking to find solitude away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Rio Bravo Ranch is your chance to experience the Big Bend region in its truest form and you are remiss if you pass up the opportunity. We felt so fortunate to start 2022 at Rio Bravo and will be back soon!

This is the perfect spot for anyone looking for a getaway that involves the rugged beauty of the Big Bend area as well as peace and quiet. You feel like you are far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but at the same time, you are not all that far from Presidio if you need supplies; in fact, to my surprise I had cell service. I would definitely stay here again if in need of a place to stay near Big Bend Ranch State Park.
