If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Rick's place was AMAZING! There are so many different camp grounds on the land we're already planning a trip back to setup on each one. We caught some nice catfish and bass in the pond and I got some pretty neat shots of the beautiful sunset.
Fun, peaceful and majestic.
Rick has a very big piece of land that is isolated and peaceful! Such a great place to stay for a weekend trip! The horses and all the other animals roaming the property was amazing! He is the most helpful and kind individual I have ever had through Hipcamp making me have full intentions on returning! The stars a breathe taking so don’t forget to look up at night! This place is the definition of what you are looking for in an escape from your everyday.
Hidden gem just outside of dallas
We had a great family camping experience! Rick was super helpful and communicated quickly. This is a special place with lots to do- roaming sweet horses, goats and donkeys, a fishing pond, tons of nature to explore. Camp grounds are very far apart from each other so you might not even see another group! Hidden gem.
Fabulous camping spot
We had the best time at Ricks property! We brought our two golden retrievers and they just loved running around and doing all the dog things. Rick was great as well. When we arrived he gave us a map of the property and let us to our camp spot. We would definitely come again!
Lovely land, host, and animals!
The land was absolutely beautiful and the animals on it friendly. The horses are sweet and will come to your campsite to say hello. No riding (or feeding without Rick in his Jeep), which are the kind of rules I really respect. It was serene to just be able to see and interact with the horses in their environment. Great opportunity for photography as well!
The campsites are well spaced (more distance than your average state or national park). There are wooden picnic tables and fire pits too!
Rick was a wonderful host. Available, helpful, friendly (but lets you alone if you prefer privacy), and a fellow animal-lover. Great place to go with your dogs without fuss. The horses don't seem to pay them any mind either.
Only an hour away from downtown Dallas, Rick offers a peaceful getaway for those who like to connect with nature. I am thankful Rick is sharing his land.
A wolfish experience
This is the most beautiful place I have seen using Hipcamp . I can’t describe it but if you’re looking for place to reconnect with mother nature , this is the perfect place. Thank you Rick for sharing your beautiful land your stories and your book, I can’t wait to go back again!
Relax under the pecan trees
Open beautiful land, gorgeous sunsets, quiet and relaxing scenery, friendly horses..I could go on and on! My husband and I were greeted by Rick on arrival and the adventure started there. Rick is super laid back chill kinda guy and very accommodating. We will for sure be back sometime :)
The most beautiful spot
Rick was an awesome host, and the spot was absolutely beautiful. the Horses were super friendly and curious, and we had a great time, despite high winds (LOL!) We def recommend and will be back.
