Located on the banks of Salt Creek, the Red Feather Ranch offers a peaceful location for fishing, hiking, camping, mountain biking and horseback riding. This is a very private ranch and your group will have the entire ranch to yourselves. If you have a larger group and would like us to open up more camp sites just let us know. Our goal is to provide a private enjoyable experience for your group, regardless of size, be it a small family or a group of families.
Tent camping is available on both sides of the creek. The more accessible sites are on the south side of the creek. Tent sites on the north side of the creek are very private and will need to be accessed either by a vehicle with a higher wheel base than a small compact car (such as a truck or Jeep) or guests may park at the barnyard and we can pack your gear to whichever site you choose.
This ranch is very remote and very private. We have deer blinds and stocked feeders for photographers. We are dog-friendly. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Because we are also a working cattle and sheep ranch we ask that dogs are leashed when in the barnyard or around livestock. There is a wide variety of wildlife in this area, including deer, turkeys, feral hogs, coyotes, bobcats, and cougars.
Horse trailer camping is available in the lower pasture near the south pond. Horse campers also have the option to leave the trailers at the barnyard and picket their horses at the remote campsites. Many extras are available such as local grown hamburger meat, fresh local eggs, firewood, propane camp stove or Blackstone grill rental, and sheep milk soap.Farm tours are available where guests can collect eggs, and feed the horses, sheep, and Livestock Guardian Dogs. We also offer lessons on the spinning wheel where guests can learn to spin wool from our sheep into yarn. At the Red Feather Ranch our goal is to give you an enjoyable and private stay with nature where you can kick back and relax under the stars.

Amazing camp site and fishing!!!
Sheridan was so amazingly helpful and kind. She gave us the choice of the lots and checked in on us to make sure we were happy. We will absolutely 100% stay here again. The fishing was amazing - we caught 6 on our first 10 lines out!!! Bass, catfish, crappie, and perch on worms and lures. The scenery was beautiful and the optional animal tour was a giant plus. The site was well prepared with trashcan, semi-private toilet (it’s tarped off well enough), and clear walkway to the pond. The farm fresh eggs were delicious. We were so happy.
My 9 year old son and I brought our tear drop camper and were able to haul it to a nice and secluded spot next to one of the stocked fishing ponds. We caught around 20 bass, took the farm tour, cooked burgers on the Blackstone, and had an altogether fantastic experience. Sheridan and Robby were more than accommodating, they were extremely helpful and very friendly. I would highly recommend their place!
The best place to camp in Texas!
Sherry’s whole property is so beautiful and offers so much variety for the wandering soul! From Texas pasture, juniper woods, mossy rock bluffs, grassy open forest, to winding creeks that the dogs love to splash in, there’s really isn’t a more beautiful piece of paradise you can find in this great state!
Plan to truly unplug and unwind!
Sherry was incredible as hostess! She took my pup and i around her property showing all the gems to explore. There’s a picnic table, fire ring, even a luggable loo “house.” If you camp by the Mossy Bluffs there’s little to no wind.
Definitely my top favorite place in Texas!
An delight for the whole family.
From the moment we arrived every member of our family felt welcomed and one with Red Feather Ranch. In a few short hours, we become part of a working ranch with Turkish livestock docks, Spanish lambs, and more bass than the kids could catch. Mom took private spinning lessons next to the pond, only to be out skilled by our 4 year old. Our 2 year old caught his first bass, weighing twice his age. Dad tried climbing a rocky bluff…the dog bewitched by morning turkeys gobbling in the brush.
Our experience of Red Feather Ranch was perfect, even magic. And we have all this to thank of the host. Thank you!
Sheri and her husband were absolutely amazing! Their land is beautiful and filled with many great spots to camp! They are just lovely people who really went out of their way to make our trip extra special, and took the time out of their day to make sure we had a fantastic and personal experience. It’s a shame we didn’t get to stay longer, but the time we did spend was just amazing, I will remember it forever for sure! We can not wait to go back, this will for sure be our go to spot!
