Our property is a densely forested 85 acres with a walk-able 2 miles around the perimeter of the property and many trails and hidden nooks to explore throughout the heart of this beautiful escape back to our natural roots. We are in the process of mapping out the trails- which we plan to make available soon! For now those of you with a sense of adventure and desire to explore will certainly be satisfied.
We have a full acre size pond and a kayak that you can feel free to use. There is a communal area around the pond that we will be adding to in the near future- you may run into some of our community members or other campers there from time to time, we invite you to socialize, bring a chair, perhaps a beverage or snack and get to know each other and us as well if we cross paths!
You will observe and encounter wildlife in abundance including a variety of birds, wild hogs, opossums, armadillo, moles, spiders, scorpions, butterflies, praying mantis, walking sticks, snakes- keep an eye out for rattlesnakes and copperheads, deer, many insects, and more. Please be cautious and treat these creatures' home with respect for them as well as yourselves. Our property is also home to some lovely cows, chickens, a few dogs, and several cats- they (other than the cows who do what they please) generally remain in areas away from our camp sites though they may still decide to stop by to say hello!
We have many spaces available for camping throughout the property. These are primitive campsites on raw land so you will need to provide your own tent, water, food, and operate with a leave no trace mentality when camping here. There are areas that can accommodate large groups of campers as well as very secluded nooks if you are looking for a private retreat into nature. There is plenty of fallen wood available for firewood and a fire pit will be prepared for you before arrival! We will continue to offer primitive camping, but stay tuned for updates on areas we will be adding amenities to!

This was our first time using Hipcamp and it was such a breeze! Sarah was very quick to respond. Loved that we could book last minute for an escape out of the city.
Sarah had a nice little nook set up with plenty of flat ground giving us many options for tent and table setups. They had a pre-made fire ring and even a bonus griddle tripod over it for cooking! Plenty of wood to harvest around the property as long as you have the means to break it down.
The property is HUGE and we were given free rein to wander around as we pleased (avoiding their living quarters of course). We were set up just a minute walk from the lake which we didn't end up hanging out at much but there was a kayak available to use if we wanted.
Despite the property being rather large, there were still some noises from surrounding neighbors (nearby train, dogs barking, shotguns, coyotes, and cows). Nothing that bothered us but worth mentioning for those in seek of silence.
Very private and everything was as advertised. Bit of a train issue but nothing to be done about that. Very gracious host and simple entry to the property.

Yes I have gotten so used to the train I forget at times! There is certainly a train that passes near the property several times a day, sometimes hardly at all, some days every 3 or 4 hours. I need to add a bit about the train in our listing. Glad you enjoyed it David, we'd love to have you back!
Country backyard-traffic sounds
The property and pond were nice to walk around. No trails or signage very easy to get lost, which I was. That was fine but I ran into someone that lived there and he couldn't help me back. I followed sounds of traffic and barking dogs. The main problem was the "tent site" it was practically in the neighbors backyard with a view of a junk yard. Surrounded by barking dogs and the sounds of traffic. NOT "off grid" except the fact that there is no electricity, water etc. It's in a country neighborhood. I was directed to a site and DID get help with my tent by a nice guy. Unfortunately, the site was surrounded by pencil cactus which kept getting into me as I was setting up. If the site was in the more remote part or by the pond I probably would have a different feeling. But I could've camped in my own back yard and gone for a hike.

Racheal, thanks for staying with us and I appreciate your honest review. I'm glad to know that the spot we had you in was so very less than ideal. I will be sure to avoid it or advertise accordingly in the future. We have 85 acres so that is certainly not all the property has to offer. There is no signage yet, as advertised, but we have plans to make things much more user friendly as soon as possible! Thank you for being one of our first campers and reviews, I'd love for you to come back in the future and see how we improve.
A great spot!
We are thankful for the hosts hospitality.
Also we LOVE that it’s in the middle of nowhere, all the trees, the pond and the one person kayak they let us use! So much fun and such a great place to explore and relax in beautiful nature!
The only change in our expectation was seeing that the site was not as secluded as we thought it would be.
However we will be back and can’t wait to be!
We had an awesome time! We had wonderful contact with host, they were extremely welcoming and catered to all our needs. The campsite is super cute, right by the lake with a kayak we got to use! Basically an awesome little spot just as advertised. We want to make coming here a tradition!

The campsite was very private and secluded. We were only a short walk to the water and my husband was able to use a kayak they had for free! Great camping experience!
Sarah was such a great host! She met us promptly at the gate, offered to help show us the site + help carry our supplies, and when we realized we forgot a pan she loaned us one of her own for the night. The property was very nice and private. Definitely will return again!

Katie I'm so glad ya'll enjoyed your time here. Would love to have you back and we're always open to new friends joining us around a fire in our spaces as well! Thanks for mentioning the neighborhood noises, that's something I will add to our listing. Some nights there is relative silence, but often you can hear some barking dogs, music, ect despite the 85 acres.
