Come and "rough it" with us in #southtexas, Plantersville, TX farm and ranch country. 🤠 40 minutes Northwest of the Greater Houston area. Where the TX Hill Country 🌄 meets the Piney Woods🌲Region.

A TX SHADED OASIS for nature lovers! Adjacent to our camp is Jollisant Farms, where you will find berry/pumpkin/veggie picking/fishing (check their open hours/seasons on their website). Mr. Jollisant's strawberries will be ready for picking December 15th! Across the street on our dead-end county road are some of the cutest cows you've ever seen. We are near the Texas Renaissance Festival, Bernhardt Winery (see their website for live free music schedule - family and pet friendly), and 20 min. to the infamous Lake Conroe. Grimes Co. is where it's at! A getaway for the soul...

New shaded campground in Plantersville, TX. Primitive camping available for both tent and RV camping (dry). One 2-bedroom cabin, two 1-bedroom cabins, and 3 furnished glamping canvas bell tents available soon.  Into stargazing? Then staying in or hanging out in The Courtyard is for you.  Want to immerse yourself in The Woods? Our dreamy forest and soft fairy lights are sure to delight.

There is electric on-site so guests can charge phones and other important items. Outlets are located at The Outpost (large cabin front porch) in The Courtyard. Fiber wifi available at the Outpost and much of the Courtyard as well. (Not so "primitive", haaaa.) If you are truly looking to get away from it all, make sure we know NOT to give you the password!

We love dogs. They are family! Absolutely bring them with you, just be sure to keep them leashed or on a tie out. Plenty of shade (yay). You'll find a hose available in The Courtyard to fill those doggie water bowls (or use for other reasons if needed).

Camp and park anywhere. Plenty of fire rings scattered about to use. Firewood, kindling bundles, s'mores kits and other items can be purchased ahead of time at booking and picked up at The Outpost in The Courtyard, or purchased while at the camp.

Small and mid-size RV's are welcome to select any cleared area in The Courtyard or behind Cabin Row off The Courtyard. Small RV's and tents are welcome to select any location in The Courtyard or behind Cabin Row off The Courtyard OR any cleared area further back into The Woods. Meander back into The Woods at some point though, it's a relaxing walk. 🌳🌲🍃

We are surrounded by farms and ranches. It's authentic country... And because of that, FYI, you may hear birds and squirrels in the treetops, or a farm dog or cow... or a coyote, or a train in the distance (the famous Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway which has been running through Plantersville since the 1800's, but thankfully not next to the camp).

Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions or special requests.

And above all else, have fun and enjoy nature! Thank you for your business.

I almost didn’t want to write a review because I don’t want to share my new favorite spot with everyone, but it would be selfish to keep it to myself! The land is a beautiful plot tucked back from the road with gorgeous pines and soft ground to set up a tent. In the back area of the Woods is a small clearing that was perfect for stargazing. At night you can hear some animals, mainly cows, from the neighboring land but the gentle sounds of the bugs and wind will help you get an incredible nights sleep. Absolutely loved my night here and I’ll be bringing back all of the rest of my friends.

I was only there for 1 night to throw a small party for a friend but the road to get there has A LOT of potholes. When I got there I realized that the campsite is just about .5 an acre behind a couple houses…. Kinda like just being used for a tax write off. Luckily we found a private area in the back and set up but getting in and out was very difficult and took me a couple of tries. The owner of the lot came out and said hi but seemed fairly unamused with the entire situation he helped me get to a secluded area brought some wood and a trash can and made sure we were all set. There were only 1-2 other groups there but due to the lack of mobility around the area all of us had to street park and constantly leave to make sure people went to the right place which made t awkward to walk past people camping every 30min… overall it was just fine. Not perfect, not terrible, just fine. We still had an amazing time!!

Hi Neveah. We seem to have had a miscommunication about how to book the right number of sites and how many people were coming. We only had record of you bringing up to the max 6 people for the 1 site you reserved, but there were many more people than that. Bob as the co-owner decided not to confront on the matter and let you guys enjoy yourselves without the extra charges/fees, stick with just the $30 for the entire party, and provided wood that wasn't purchased as well. We do have information on the site about the campground being down a long driveway. A lesson learned for us is that we need to make sure campers know the campground is for overnight camping and not for parties. As for parking, we're happy with the space we have for that, we just didn't know to give you information on how to bring in the extra cars and where to put them. Glad you guys had fun. And yes, agree, would be so nice if the potholes on the County Road were fixed! We can give people a heads up about that. And we're sad to hear you felt like a tax write off. We are very proud of our brand new campground, the hard work we've put into it and the progress we are making developing it.

Dark and without much light pollution made the "in the woods" feeling nice. Noise from neighboring dogs and animals made sleeping difficult. Sandy areas made tent life comfy and ambient firewood made firebuilding easy even with no kindling or lighterfluid.

Thank you again for the feedback Parker! We have since made it more clear on Hipcamp, Facebook, and Google that our acreage, although mostly wooded, is next to a large working farm with dogs and cows (and strawberries, ha) in the distance. Some nights are very quiet, but you never know when they will bark or moo, so again, thank you and with your feedback we'll hope to make future experiences just that much more enjoyable with that knowledge. We appreciate you!
