Honey’s first camping trip.
The location we selected was nice right on the beach. We had plenty of space to set up the campsite. I loved waking up to the sounds of nature, the bird and wile life was amazing. A few things that can be improved: 1. The app started cooking utensils was included, no they were not 2. We has to find a smoker and move it to our selected location. 3. The smoker was very old, we had to be very careful because it would fall if we moved it to fast. Over all our stay was successful. There were many sites to select from. We selected one about 20 feet from the beach. It was very secluded and romantic. My honey and I were very happy. 👍🏽
Bathrooms weren't working and day visitors kept using them so they were gross and dirty. Campsites littered with garbage:
Cigarette butts, food, beer boxes, etc.
In general the caliber of people who visit/use this facility (mostly for day activities) seem to have a general disregard for the outdoors and the facilities.
Beautiful place, Andres was great but on holiday weekends the crowds are very trashy and the porta potties get very gross. I can't belive grown people can't put their trash in trash cans.
This site is not for overnight camping. A bunch of people hang out here along the creek during the day, but we got ran out come 9pm because they “close at 7:30pm.” Very confused why they advertise “camping.”
Camping by the river
This is a lovely park next to the San Jacinto River. Facilities are rustic (flush toilets, outdoor showers with no hot water), but very peaceful. Andres, the host, was wonderful. Very helpful with guiding us to the entrance and providing us a fill for our travel trailer’s fresh water tank. Lots of birds and jumping fish to watch. Only downside is lots of trash. Since it is a public park by day, hard for staff to keep up with this aspect. We would definitely stay here again, though.
Andres and rest of folk there are very friendly and welcoming. The property looks like it is shaping up nicely to be a great beachy destination so go now because ones day it should be $$. The beach is white and water is clear, the trees are gorgeous. Porta potties and water for cooking or drinking is a bit of a thing but there. Very friendly loose dogs.
Magnolia Gardens is in a beautiful location on the San Jacinto River. Very quiet when we were there. However, lots of trash on the ground, broken picnic tables, overturned trash cans, and dirty porta potties definitely detracted from the experience. Lots of potential but needs a good cleanup.
