Lost Horizon is a unique safari hideaway to demonstrate how we can live sustainably and comfortably through the use of modern technology and permaculture. Keep in mind that because we are currently completely off grid, electricity is finite. To enhance the experience during extreme cold and hot weather, we will be connecting the power grid.

One of the best trips i've ever taken. There wasn't a single thing missing from this solar-powered glamping experience. My girlfriend and I had a blast out here for her birthday, and we'll be making this a routine trip; hopefully bringing friends next time we come to share the experience. If you're hesitant about this listing, don't be - the communication and accommodation by the owners of this property was top-notch. This place was incredible, and we'll be back.
I loved staying here! The views were great and the peace is wonderful. The hosts were very helpful and fast to respond to any questions we had! I would totally stay here again
Glamping in style
Great adventure being in remote area seeing animals walk by. Enjoyed having ac even while staying in a test. Sofa bed turned out to be a great sleeper for two people. Had no issue with electricity through solar panels.
The upscale tent was surrounded by trees so you really felt alone but there was still a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. We saw so many types of deer and rams every time we drove in and out of the property. Perfect for a romantic camping trip with several luxuries like electricity, running water, toilet, protection from the elements. Only cons were no fault of the hosts but the river was very low (but still beautiful) and burn ban was in effect so no camp fire. We will be back for sure!!
We enjoyed our stay at this secluded spot at the end of the road. You may see other people as you drive around the ranch, but you won't see anyone from the tent, and it's very quiet. The directions provided by the owners made it easy to find. As they've mentioned, the last few hundred feet to the tent is off road and includes a few dips, rocks, and tree stumps. I would recommend a high clearance vehicle, but 4x4 is not necessary. Otherwise, you can park in the cul-de-sac and walk to the tent via the footpath. We had no issues managing power consumption. The owners provided a website that showed power consumption and battery charge status in real time, so we adjusted as necessary. The bed was very comfortable, and included an electric blanket for cool nights. We sent a couple of questions for the owners via text during our stay, and we received a call within 1 minute of both texts which I very much appreciated.
