Lone Mound is gem of a Hipcamp. Lana (the host) was friendly and accommodating. Her property is beautiful and quiet. We liked it so much we have already booked it for our return trip. Michael and Victoria

We had a great time camping under the trees on the ranch. Took a short hike up the Mesa and watched the dogs herd cattle. We purchased a couple of steaks from Lana that were to die for ❤️ It's a peaceful slice of heaven out there.

I adored staying at Lone Ranch. It was a stunning property and grounds. I was so relaxed and enjoyed the haven so much I didn’t want to leave.
I did however visit nearby Madrid and listened to live music and visited some of the boutiques.

Wonderful stay with a. Wonderful host

I read another review that said this place was bucket list camping, and after staying WE AGREE! It was peaceful, open, entertaining (Coyotes ) and the night sky is a view to see. Hosts were responsive and helpful, even last minute. We’ll definitely be back.

Lana’s place was 100% what we were looking for on our overnight stay. We enjoyed the serenity and solitude overlooking the hilltop and our dog roamed and sniffed to her hearts content. Was fun to literally hear the cows come home and some local wildlife as we ate dinner by the fire we made and stared at the stars. Bonus was purchasing a few fresh steaks off Lana as we packed up the next morning! Recommend for those looking to embrace nature.

Perfect privacy on a cool fall evening The sunset turned to a wonderful star showA VERY happy frolicking dogTook our time packing up to leave as we soaked in the crickets and warm morning breeze

We had the best experience! We arrived about 9 pm and were greeted and shown to our tent site. It was a Harvest Moon over the Mesa and just gorgeous. In the morning we made a fire with the wood provide ready to go in the fire pit and watched the sun come up as 4 horses were running by in the distance. Perfection!

Camp site #2. We stayed overnight on our way with the Vandoit Adventure Van show van to an expo in Flagstaff.

Lone Mound Ranch was an amazing site, so much so that we decided to stay an extra night. Lana was very accommodating and welcoming, even going out of her way to make change for the delicious burgers she provided. We camped on the mesa with our off road teardrop and got great views and a constant breeze. We also got lovely visits from the grazing cows. We will definitely be back!
