Got to pick our campsite, the place is well maintained and Johnnie made everything easy. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.
We had a great Spring Break camping at Lake Cisco Lodge and Campgrounds. Definitely tons of space to spread out and relax. Phillip and Johnnie were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. We loved hearing the history of the abandoned zoo that is adjacent to the property.
The campsites were well maintained. We've already talked about going back!

Thank you for the nice review and for staying Cindy. Enjoyed meeting you and your daughters. Johnnie
Cisco is such a cool town. This camp ground is a great basecamp for your adventures. The old zoo and Lake Cisco are within an easy walk. There are many cool cabins to look in on the property too.
We arrived late and the wonderful host came out to show us where to park the RV. Can't wait to come back. The pie at Slowpokes is worth the trip too.

Thank you for the kind review Candice. So glad you enjoyed your trip. Johnnie
We had to reschedule due to freezing roads. Johnnie made it so easy.

Thanks Don.... hope you enjoyed staying there.
As always such a peaceful stay. Never any issues camping here. So glad to see the zoo trails as an official hiking location for all to enjoy.

Thank you Amberlee for coming back and it makes me very happy that you enjoy staying. Johnnie
This place is very unique and suprisingly beaitiful! We highly recommend!

Really glad you enjoyed yourself Scott and saw how unique the area is compared to its surroundings. The Spaniards carried Gold and Silver right down the valley where the lake is on their way from Colorado to Galveston. Lots of history.
Really enjoyed the stay and with all the trees it was easy to forget how close civilization is. There is road noise from the Highway but that is almost everywhere now a days. Enjoyed the hiking trails and seeing old buildings. This place does have great potential for future campers.

Happy you has an enjoyable stay Christopher... did you kayak? Noise does seem to be everywhere now. If the ringing in my ears ever stops I will know I am dead.
I will have to say the pictures online are VERYYYY misleading. The grass was NOT even mowed, and we had a tiny camping area. This campground has SO much potential but it is a shame that it is not kept up! My husband and I enjoyed hiking around and being outside but goodness mow the grass!!! The camp host was nice and helped with the electricity. I don't like writing bad reviews but it's disheartening when things aren't what they make it out to be online.

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay. I have been away from the property and did not know it needed mowing. There has been no rain until ,just recently. Campers that did enjoy their stay placed the photos on the site.
Fun little get away. The Zoo is really a good adventure. The secret swimming hole and hike across the dam were favorites.

Thank you for staying Sandra and really happy you had a good time. Safe travels. Johnnie
