Welcome to the HOKU HAÜS. ** PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION PRIOR TO BOOKING ** A stargazers Paradise! Beautiful Hill country views! 100% OFF GRID… NO WATER NO ELECTRICITY. This is a Glamping experience and very Spartan as far as amenities go. It is a 10 x 12 cabin with two chairs in it and a small deck off to the side. It has a woodstove and solar lights inside. It is designed to bring your camping gear and sleep on the floor or balcony outdoors. So we definitely recommend sleeping pads pillows sleeping bags blankets etc. We have a nice outdoor fire pit as well as a composting bucket outhouse. There’s a short somewhat steep hike from the parking area by the road up to the cabin. Again the trail is steep and approximately 30 yards long. Keep this in mind because your belongings will have to be carried up the trail. There’s another cabin that we also rent on the same property. We ask that you respect their privacy and they will respect yours as well. There is good separation between the two cabins so that should not be an issue. Both cabins to have their own out houses so you will not be sharing those facilities. We asked that you keep fires small and under control. We will let you know if there is a burn van in effect and if there is we asked that you do not have a fire. The barn doors are not sealed and it can get a little breezy and chilly inside during the winter months. You’re welcome to use the woodstove but we ask that you be careful and keep the fires small and manageable… that little stove will get super hot! Some of the panels on the cabin or metal and also get pretty hot when they have direct sun on them. Please be careful because they do get hot to the touch. Turkey Bend recreation area on Lake Travis it’s just a couple of miles down the road. Marble Falls and Austin are both about the same distance away approximately 17 miles. Hidden Falls adventure Park is approximately 7 miles away. Lago Vista Texas is the closest city with restaurants and gas stations in a small grocery store… 10 miles. This property is on a dirt road and is somewhat rough. The parking area is also dirt and somewhat uneven. Please reach out if you have any questions and we look forward to hosting you!

Gorgeous campsite up a rocky hillside. We loved the gorgeous views of the Texas hill country. Small cabin, but enough room to sleep four adults inside and four dogs on the decks.

We loved our stay here! Such beautiful views of the hill country! With having a fire pit outside and a neat wood burning stove in the cabin gives this place such a wonderful feel! I would highly recommend staying here!
Wow! Let’s just say the Hoku House is absolute perfection, and more! Everything about it was fun and amazing. We couldn’t have been happier and definitely plan to book many more nights there in the future. The host, Jay, was extremely kind, generous, and helpful. Everything we needed was provided for us and it was just an overall awesome stay. If you’re looking for a unique fun time, book the Hoku House right away!
It’s a fantastic place to get away from Austin without having to go too far. The cabin was cozy and stayed very warm with the wood stove. It is a stargazers paradise. I ended up bringing my telescope and had great views from all around.

This cabin is absolutely amazing! The view from inside is just perfect. My friend and I stayed here for two nights for her 30th birthday. When we arrived Jay had fully stocked the cabin with wood, and even preloaded the stove for us. The stove kept the cabin nice and toasty in the 20 degree weather. Jay’s cabin reminds me of my home in Alaska. Do yourself a favor and book a few nights in this beautiful cabin. The pictures do not do it justice!
