Come and visit our enchanting Hobbit's Nest treehouse! Enjoy a romantic getaway or a fun family vacation resting in the tree tops of Lost Pines Forest. The Hobbit's Nest is a unique glamping experience offering the serenity of nature with some of the comforts of home. We are dog friendly and the owners' two friendly large dogs roam the property freely and are likely to stop by for a play visit!

The tree house has a comfortable queen size bed with a gorgeous treetop view. Two cots and/or two air mattresses are also available upon request with room to set up tent camping for the family. Clean linens, towels, K-cup coffee maker and coffee are all supplied for you.

We have recently added electricity, an air conditioner/heater mini split, as well as a small refrigerator with ice trays. There are lights throughout and below to enjoy the recreational spaces late into the evening. The bathroom features a sink with cold running water as well as an incinerating toilet. An outdoor shower provides both hot and cold water and a relaxing bathing experience. Please be aware that the hot water temperature might not rise enough to shower in very cold weather.

A propane grill, propane, pots, pans, cooking implements, and dishware for four is supplied for cooking. Guests may want to bring an additional cooler with ice for drinks.

Guests will share 42 heavily wooded acres in the Lost Pines Forest with the owners and two short term rental guest houses. There are shaded trails for walking and observing wildlife. The tree house overlooks a small pond filled with lily pads and frogs. The west facing balconies are a great place to watch sunsets and listen to the frog orchestra.

The property is about 8 miles from Bastrop State Park's trails and swimming pool, 10 miles to the Colorado River and kayak rental and Bastrop's restaurants. We are near many antique stores and the Round Top antique fair. The Sherwood Forest Faire site is only 6 miles away.

Be aware: Please be on the lookout for scorpions and snakes during your visit. Though they are less active during the cooler months, there are still snakes and scorpions on the property so please be aware, keep a close eye on children and pets, and most importantly -- watch your step.

The Hobbit’s Nest was an amazing experience. This was our first time staying in a tree house and it did not disappoint. It’s so quaint and cozy. Loved the view, the pond filled with lily pads and toads. In the morning, there was a lot of birds out by the pond. Looked like a photo out of National Geographic. Jim was a great host and responded to all our questions very quickly. Would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved staying at the Hobbits Nest! It was beautiful, quiet and the AC/electricity was a plus! The people who owned the place were lovely and their dogs were so sweet. I can’t wait to go back!

This treehouse is beautiful. The attention to detail is incredible, the entire property is very clean and well-kept. The owner was so friendly and responsive to all questions. We stayed during a heavy storm and it was still an unforgettable experience. I cannot wait to come back!

Such a magical place to stay! The treehouse is breathtaking and makes you feel like you are truly in the shire, among the trees, wildflowers, and lily pad pond. All of the details are incredible. Jim was a kind host and gave us a tour of the property when we arrived. Inside the treehouse is cozy with beautiful stained glass windows and a four poster wooden bed. I cannot wait to visit again!
