Come and visit our enchanting Hobbit's Nest treehouse! Enjoy a romantic getaway or a fun family vacation resting in the tree tops of Lost Pines Forest. The Hobbit's Nest is a unique glamping experience offering the serenity of nature with some of the comforts of home. We are dog friendly and the owners' two friendly large dogs roam the property freely and are likely to stop by for a play visit!
The tree house has a comfortable queen size bed with a gorgeous treetop view. Two cots and/or two air mattresses are also available upon request with room to set up tent camping for the family. Clean linens, towels, K-cup coffee maker and coffee are all supplied for you.
We have recently added electricity, an air conditioner/heater mini split, as well as a small refrigerator with ice trays. There are lights throughout and below to enjoy the recreational spaces late into the evening. The bathroom features a sink with cold running water as well as an incinerating toilet. An outdoor shower provides both hot and cold water and a relaxing bathing experience. Please be aware that the hot water temperature might not rise enough to shower in very cold weather.
A propane grill, propane, pots, pans, cooking implements, and dishware for four is supplied for cooking. Guests may want to bring an additional cooler with ice for drinks.
Guests will share 42 heavily wooded acres in the Lost Pines Forest with the owners and two short term rental guest houses. There are shaded trails for walking and observing wildlife. The tree house overlooks a small pond filled with lily pads and frogs. The west facing balconies are a great place to watch sunsets and listen to the frog orchestra.
The property is about 8 miles from Bastrop State Park's trails and swimming pool, 10 miles to the Colorado River and kayak rental and Bastrop's restaurants. We are near many antique stores and the Round Top antique fair. The Sherwood Forest Faire site is only 6 miles away.
Be aware: Please be on the lookout for scorpions and snakes during your visit. Though they are less active during the cooler months, there are still snakes and scorpions on the property so please be aware, keep a close eye on children and pets, and most importantly -- watch your step.

The whole experience was so amazing. We got off the grid and had a beautiful time in the room. We just had a night but it was what we needed. They were so hospitable and the room was very clean and way more than we expected. We WILL be back.
Absolutely gorgeous tree house with beautiful little details and personal touches. I could just see all the work that went into crafting this space and I kept finding hidden extras that blew my mind. From the stained glass to the woodworking to the decorations, the space was beautiful. I wish I could have stayed longer!!
Simply enchanted! Gorgeous craftsmanship, thoughtfully and intuitively appointed with everything we needed to glamp in style and comfort. The outdoor shower is definitely a highlight! Absolutely beautiful. My husband and I are huge fans of LOTR, so we simply had to visit this amazing creation. It exceeded my expectations, the hosts were incredibly friendly, as was their sweet pup who visited and got along just swell with our two doodles. We were very thankful for a pet friendly stay, as well as a comfortably cool air conditioned room despite 100+ temperatures. We plan to visit again hopefully in the fall when the weather is cooler. ❤️ Thank you soooo much!
The Hobbit's Nest is a unique and whimsical getaway. The treehouse is beautiful and the attention to detail is incredible. My family and I enjoyed our time there. The Nest is extremely well stocked and equipped and the interior is air conditioned. We didn't need most of the supplies we brought with us.
It was an absolutely incredible stay! We were so surprised at how much they had ready for guests and how beautiful the property was - pictures truly do not do it justice. And seeing the pups was an added bonus. I can't wait to go back!
The stay at Hobbits nest was absolutely beautiful. Our little boys loved exploring the tree house to find all the special hobbit Easter eggs. The AC made it extremely comfortable in over 100 degree weather and with all the trees it was extremely shady. It was so special, we'd love to visit again!
Beautiful house! Private lot and my dogs can run around without leashes. Clean rooms. It is very hot summer, but I think the tree house is a few degrees cooler.
