My boyfriend's birthday weekend was approaching and I knew he wanted to go camping with friends. I was browsing HipCamp for inspiration as an employee of a company in the same vein of specialty, and saw Hobbit's Nest. It was a splurge for me but it was too badass to resist, and I had a best birthday ever to deliver.
I kept it a secret up until we walked up to the treehouse with Sandy guiding the way. It looked insane online, and in real life, it was almost too idyllic to be real. The complex included stairs and ramp is huge, with a lounge area underneath with hanging chairs, lawn chairs, a hammock, a fire pit, a propane grill, and a sink. The nest is somehow simple, but intricate. All solar powered, string lights and lanterns included, and a powerful propane heater. The water is well water and tastes so good. The air is clean, the stars are beautiful, and the treehouse was immediately cozy. We all settled in immediately.
My friends and I have been all over the world, but this little spot in Paige gives many famous and beautiful structures a run for their money.
Oh, also, there were four of us total, and the treehouse had plenty of room for a couple air mattresses while still being navigable.
We were accidentally a little high maintenance, and Sandy was so patient and helpful even when we were all a bunch of dumb babies. She told me the story of the treehouse and it was fascinating to hear how it came to be. I also left my prescription sunglasses behind and they're going to mail them to me. Jim and Sandy are the best.
And most importantly, it was indeed the best birthday ever.
200/10 recommend seeing this within your lifetime

The drive to this location was relaxing and peaceful. We were greeted by amazing hosts who gave us a tour of the tree house will all the inner workings. Perfect place for small groups to go camping and to experience stargazing. The tree house was much more than we expected, with more than enough room. Will definitely return for this experience again!
Great treehouse! My wife and I really enjoyed the setting and the setup. Thank you!
The Hobbit’s Nest surpassed my expectations. The structure is so unique and well done, and all the artistic details were really something special. James and Sandy were excellent hosts and we completely enjoyed our weekend. It was a privilege to stay in this very unique place.
Fantastic! Exceeded all of our expectations. Very clean, beautiful, and fun.
I had the best time at Hobbit’s Nest. It was absolutely beautiful, and James & Sandy were incredible hosts. I would recommend to anyone!
The atmosphere was magical! All of the little details were so cute and the cabin itself is very clean. We had a nice, relaxing stay and can’t wait to come back.
The place is even more incredible in person! Nothing really compares to how beautiful it is. And James was more than accommodating. We would love to stay here again.
